uneven teeth

#1 Post by mygrill »

I have noticed since my last adjustment (first week of August) that the left lateral incisor that got a power chain has rotated to the front (turned in due to minor crowding)...however, the right lateral incisor has got straighter, yes, but it is a tad bit longer than the rest of my teeth.

Is it just me or has any one else experienced the whole "worse before it's better" result. I mean it is really bothering me that one tooth is longer than another...it's obvious if I don't smile just right to cover the uneveness. I am going to ask my ortho how we are dealing with this next time I go...but I just wanted to know other people's input

I'm having the same issues right now. And yes I've heard from a ton of people that it gets worse before better. I have to remind myself that it will all be adjusted in time and to not be so anal. If I'm in the last couple months and still having these issues I'll make sure they're dealt with. However, I don't think that will be an issue because my Ortho is a notorious perfectionist.

Yes, i have experienced that same thing! It worried me at first, but the first time it happened, the first thing my ortho talked about when looking at my teeth was the unevenness. She told me not to worry, it was all part of her master plan. :D

I think it's something that's addressesed before your treatment ends. You never see anyone who has had braces that have uneven teeth. So I'm thinking it's part of the master plan too.

I'm certain that I'll have some elastic configuration to pull some of my teeth down (or up on the bottom). I have several teeth that are shorter than others.

thank you to those that replied to my post ... i feel some relief. I guess it's true I have never seen anyone who had braces with uneven teeth - i guess it would have been pointless if uneveness is not addressed when more major things are .

thanks again guys! hugs!
