I began lower arch metal (GAC innovation R) and upper invisalign. From the start I found the metal more comfortable and less hassle, but I stuck with the invisalign and really followed the protocol to the letter. I was not completely pleased with the end result. (ok but not as good as I hoped) So last Thursday I got the uppers wired...American metal with wire ligs...am told they sit closer to the teeth so for a short duration job will be more comfortable. I am pleased, but wow was I sore for a few days in there. Not as gentle as the self ligating lowers, or maybe just a mouthful is that much more intense. Dunno, but already things are on the move. All should be done by August.
August? That's fast! Congrats on moving up to the real thing! (no offense to anyone with other appliances, but in almost every thing I've read and heard, metal brackets get the best and quickest results and are the most comfortable.)
You are encouraged to disagree if you like. I don't take offense.
Not that I have any other experiences to compare by, but I agree PARR! I loved my experience with metal braces fo' shizzle. Welcome, our fellow metal mouth

OK so it's August and...yes I was away all summer...we're not there yet. Maybe mid-October, so I go in early that month to see if everything is cooperating. Still, the end is near. Looking forward to enjoying a nice crisp apple sometime this fall.
