3M Clarity and Smartclip braces

Hello,

I have ceramic 3M Clarity braces on the top and Smartclip metal braces on the bottom.

I am 23 years old and have been braced for 8 crazy months for the first time and I am absolutely blown away by my results ( I will try and get some pictures up later, I'm still trying to cut them up so just my mouth is showing.) I had two upper pre-molars extracted at the very beginning of the treatment.

I wanted to find out what the experience has been like for others in these types of braces.

On this site I have learned about so many different types of braces and the effects they have.

One of the main questions I have is how have these braces effected the amount of time you will have to spend braced??

Originally the ortho told me 20-24 months, but that was before he decided to go with the braces I am in now. The research I have been doing has shown that most people are spending only 13-19 months.

Hello Luvli220,

I don't have any answers here since I just got braced yesterday. I have the same set up you do (clarity on top and smart clip on bottom) Ortho at consultation appt told me they would be on for a year. Then yesterday the date was changed to Nov 2009.

I'm looking forward to seeing what others have to say as well. :-1

i have smartclips top and bottom, but i only got them a month ago
treatment time is 24mths approx

March 17 2008 - molar bands
March 20 2008 - 2 upper 1st premolar extractions
April 17 2008 - upper jaw braced
April 24 2008 - lower jaw braced

my ortho says the 3m smartclips are gonna be 6mths quicker than the other regular brackets she uses
(so she says) i suppose it would be 6mths or less
