Turbo gone; hitting brackets

Turbo gone; hitting brackets
At my first adjustment my ortho removed my bite turbo and molar build ups he put on the day he did brackets. Now two weeks later my top teeth are bumping into my bottom brackets to the point where it's causing mild discomfort. I'm also worried about the clenching that I do at night. When I initially asked about that I was told the build ups would protect me from doing anymore damage (gum recession) until the bite was fixed. So why did he remove them so early in my treatment (after only 10 weeks)? I'm thinking I should call him and ask if they shouldn't be put back on, but geez, eating is such a pleasure without all that stuff, and I hate to second-guess him.

Hmm...I think I would call him. I don't have turbos but I'm getting them soon and I've heard they are, basically, a pain in the butt!
BUT, if I were you, I'd worry about damaging your top front teeth or knocking off brackets. Maybe your ortho thought you were ready to have them removed so if you have them reinstalled you may not have to wear them for long...good luck!

Keep smilin'!

I had a biteplate in the beginning of my journey. Without it I would have knocked out most of my lower brackets (not the front ones, because i had overjet). I had it for 6 months, after which I got my upper braces. My upper canines have been hitting my lower canine brackets since then. I havent seen any damage on my teeth, but it is a little bit ynnoying.
Maybe your bite is suppose to change soon, so you wont need turbos etc. But to feel secure just give a call to your ortho!

Thanks for the feedback. I called this morning and they had me come back in. They put in new molar build-ups (or bite plains, as they call them), but no turbo. I actually prefer it, because with out the build ups I was constantly biting my cheeks with my brackets, in addition to the bumping of the front teeth.
