Great to get your encouraging replies. I'm seeing the hygienist tomorrow, so I'm going to corner the ortho if I can, and have chat with him about these turbos. Now I'm over the initial shock of it all, I'm feeling a bit annoyed that he didn't tell me beforehand about these things, all I was expecting to have to cope with were the braces themselves, which seemed bad enough! Without dealing with these instruments of torture! Either my ortho is very thorough, or a bit of a sadist! I'll see what he says, and how long he thinks I should wear them for, before making any drastic decisions. I didn't think I had a particularly excessive overbite, but I'll reserve judgement until tomorrow.
