I got my spacers and upper and lower brackets with the wires this week. I am getting my spacers out and the complete braces on teh 29th. Cant wait to get that coz these spacers are hell.. they hurt soo much...

They said i will be wearing my braces for 2 yrs. The dentist said i will wear elastics towards the end of my treatment. So wat does wearing the braces do? wat does the elastics do?
braces will make your teeth straight and make your bite be as perfect as possible. elastics will do things that your archwire and braces can't do such as correcting an overbite or underbite. and elastics are also used to correct your midline in some cases. hope this helps.
In my case i have a bit of overbite in the front and one teeth in the fron is overlaping another one...and have a gap next to my canine on one side....so you saying the gaps will be filled in by the time i wear my elastics.....?
well it just depends. he will probably use a powerchain to close gaps and if you have an overbite he will prescribe elastics on to make it smaller. i am no orthodontist but this is just an introduction to what you can expect.
