Almost done!!!

#1 Post by Teigyr »

Hello all,

I know I've been silent but life has been so crazy. I'm getting married in a month and we've been busy closing out my house and planning the ceremony.

Anyway, I've had braces for about 15 months. I had my BSSO on 5/09. I went to my ortho appointment yesterday and he said we are done except for one tooth!!!

Unfortunately, this tooth (upper molar) is turned around funny (the bracket on the band is facing the rear of my mouth) and needs to be brought down. Yesterday's pleasure-fest included adding a button to my lower molar then attaching a rubber band from the inner lower molar to the back upper molar to help bring it down. I also got power chains to try to turn the tooth around. Ouch! My ortho wants to try to move this tooth quickly so he also built up my teeth in the back so my there is room -- I don't know what you call it but my back teeth don't touch anymore.

I guess the whole message is to realize that this is over before you know it! I can't believe I'm on the home stretch ----

I think all-in-all, it will be way less than two years!!!
