Block brace

Hi All New to site My Son had a block Brace fitted Yesterday and is finding it very painful and can't eat after wearing it... Please any support or information will be greatly received.

Are you talking about a twin block appliance?

It will be uncomfortable for a few days because his jaws are being forced into a different relationship. Perseverance is the key. If it's removable then he should resist the temptation to keep taking it out because that will prolong the amount of time he takes to get used to it. A mild pain killer like Nurofen taken 1/2 hour before eating should help with the discomfort, and perhaps a softer diet for a few days.

Within a week or so he should be fine with it as his mouth will adapt.
