Re: COVID19 - can't get my braces off for foreseeable future!

A friend of mine was scheduled to get her braces off this week before her wedding. She went on a rant about how all appointments are cancelled with the exception of emergencies and that getting her braces off is not considered an emergency. Her wedding is still on in 3 weeks and has no clue how she...

DentaKit.com is open and shipping during COVID-19!

DentaKit.com is open and shipping all in-stock products. The warehouse we work with in Pennsylvania does extensive trucking, as well as shipping of many types of healthcare products and foods. Therefore, they are exempt from the lockdown rules because their business is considered essential (at least...

Post Your COVID-19 Orthodontic Stories or Concerns

With many areas of the world going on some form of lockdown, orthodontic patients are being told that their appointments and procedures are being canceled. Some dental offices are closing and people can't pick up their next sets of aligner trays, or get their adjustments done. In fact, the ADA (Amer...

Re: "What A Long, Strange Trip It's Been" - Robert Hunter, Grateful Dead

twedledee, where are you in Italy? What is it like for you being an orthodontic patient there while the country is on lockdown? My husband and I were in Venice and Padua in early February (part of a larger European trip we took to other countries). We got home Feb. 10th. As you know, there wasn't a ...

Re: COVID19 - can't get my braces off for foreseeable future!

I've been reading posts on social media about people who are getting their orthodontic appointments postponed or canceled due to this crisis. Most jaw surgeries are being canceled, which is devastating to people who have been planning the surgery for months. I even read one post from a person who go...

INPUT NEEDED: New Message Board Ideas???

Hey guys, The new ArchWired site will launch before the end of this month. After it is done, I am considering also upgrading this message board. I'm aware that a lot of people seem to go to Facebook these days for forum-type advice. I'm not really keen on using Facebook as a medium for this sort of ...

Re: Metallic dental fillings : to change or not?

I changed the ones which were visible. I had fillings in all of my molars. Eventually I changed out the one that was not too visible. Now all of my filings are composite. Haven't had any trouble with them at all. Some dentists feel that the amalgam fillings should be avoided. Others think they are f...

Re: Recently debraced questions

Re: Hello & incoming inquiry

What does the orthodontist want to do for your child's treatment? It's very common to have interceptive treatment starting as young as age 7 to help prevent worse problems down the road. For example, my daughter had a crossbite. She was treated with a palate expander for about 6 months when she was ...

You can include a photo after you become a full member, which takes about 10 posts to achieve (it's a variable number). When your name turns green, you have become a regular member. I don't suggest posting anything ridiculous or innocuous because those often get deleted by our moderators. It's done ...
