Re: do we all have moments where it feels like our progress stopped?
Ha, I just posted a similar thing. Yes I feel like a lot of progress and movement happened the first say 6 months. Now I'm 9 months into treatment and I feel like at a standstill. I had very crooked teeth, overcrowding and teeth tipping inward so a lot changed quickly but they look very far from str...

Re: Changed back to smaller wires
I just had to do that at my last appointment - like you I thought it sounded like going back and I don't really know what it meant 'disengaged' but by the next appointment 5 weeks later, I went back up to the same heavier wire again. Ortho said it wouldn't slow progress.

Progress plateau and oh boy, elastics!! How long?
Well I'm 9 months into full braces, lower braces went on a few months after top. Firstly: So lots of movement happened in the first few months which just wowed me and excited me but now things have really plateaued. My teeth look much better but are just staying that way without more really crucial ...

Re: Bite blocks driving me crazy
Good luck adjusting Diamant. I can tell already eating is getting a bit easier - well, soft bread is now a possibility! Wow, bite blocks from the beginning? As I said, makes me realize these last 5 months without lower braces and without these blocks have been relatively easy.

Bite blocks driving me crazy
I've been in damon upper braces for 5 months and this week I got the lower ones fitted now that there's some more space. AND bite blocks on the back lower molars. Oh boy, have I had it easy up to now apparently! This is so much harder suddenly. The bite blocks: Block my bite very successfully. Now I...

Re: Switching ortho?
Wow, I'm really heartened to hear these stories from others. EWUGal15, I'm sorry you've had a disappointment too but sounds great that you have a treatment coordinator. It's nice that you have that person between you and the ortho. Good luck with your process. This practice I'm in is pretty small. S...

Switching ortho?
I'm 3 and a half months into treatment. Only top braces are on so far, bottom to follow at next appointment. I'm feeling some regret about my decision to go with this ortho. I consulted with several and thought that this was the one - staff very friendly, very good reviews, nice office with individu...

Re: Starting with damon braces soon - overbite & crowding fix
Congratulations Kirstytrash. I need to post an update soon - a lot has happened in the 2 and a half months I've had these. Did you get top and bottom clear? I don't understand why some people can get both clear and yet my ortho wants to do metal on the bottom.

Re: anyone used an acceledent?
I've been using it daily and am experiencing virtually no pain. My ortho sold me on this as the main benefit. She says this is what she hears most from her patients who use it. She estimates it will knock about 4 months off treatment but again, it's an estimate. Because I am using acceledent, I get ...

Re: I think my braces are too low
Ask questions for sure! Positions do vary greatly depending what kind of movement is required of each tooth. Mine were positioned quite low on my teeth (opposite end of gum line) on my uppers. I asked at my next appointment. LaFawn, did the orthodontist check the techs work before you left the appoi...
