Just to add to what everyone said, the main expense in braces is the treatment plan, not the braces themselves...so you really won't be saving any money.

If you can get it done in another country, and get all your adjustments done there every 1-2 months you might save some money that way.

I've never considered the bracket size an issue at all, and I have porcelain on top, metal on bottom.

I'm no dentist, but I can tell you that my top row have moved a lot slower than my bottom row, and my orthodontist specifically told me this would be the case if I chose the porcelain.

Most private insurance companies that are not work administered will not cover much...and even so you'll have to be with that company for a long period of time before you can begin making claims...or even be allowed to have a large amount, like yearly accumulated amounts..stuff like State Farm Maybe...

ive had trips where ive been in and out, where they didnt end up replacing an archwire, where it wasnt even busy i dont think your ortho has anything to gain by extending your treatment time monetarily-- in fact it would be in their best interest to speed up your process since youre paying for a pro...

just make sure you wear them how long they say

at first i didnt take them seriously and was only wearing them for about 12 instead of 20-24 hours, so then i had to have them for another 2 months...

basically, they speed up your treatment time if you adhere to them

Has anyone else here had any of their incisors removed...? I had one of my lower laterals removed, and am wondering other peoples experiences, or if they choose not to have them removed, or any possible down sides. One of my friends said that her mom specifically didn't allow them to, and I'm not to...
