Re: Can I ignore this when having braces? PLEASE HELP!!
Well I hate to admit it, but I did ignore it once. Not my smartest decision ever lol. I bit the bracket off in my sleep. Luckily, it is a bracket that is on a back molar that is not engaged in the wire, so they said they will just replace it at my next adjustment in September. I wouldn't leave it. G...

Re: Expansion VS Extractions
I am interested to hear some replies for this as well. The first orthodontist I consulted with said that I need 4 extractions because of my small mouth. The second orthodontist said extractions weren't necessary (and also that an expander wouldn't work for me). I made the choice to go with the secon...

Re: My Journey started yesterday.
Hi! Thanks for sharing your story. Similarly to you, I got braces because of bruxism and shifting as well. I also have some recession on teeth due to the bruxism. I have been in braces for 3 months. I find the teeth moving with braces makes my clenching at night worse and awkward feeling. Good luck ...

Re: Which Waterpik tip do you use?
I use the standard tip and the ortho tip. I like the ortho tip on a low setting to get everything out from around my brackets after I eat. I use the standard tip morning and night to clean the gums on a little bit higher setting.

Braces story - 28 years old
Hi! I just wanted to share my story! :D I got braces for the first time at 28 years old. I am about 3 months in currently, and I am expected to have them for 24 months. Growing up my teeth were perfect. Fast forward to adulthood... I began clenching and grinding my teeth at night. My teeth began shi...

Re: One molar hitting first - new to braces
Hi! Thanks for your reply. I will definitely work on trying to reduce the clenching. It does make sense that my bite will feel off at times as things shift. Thanks again for the reply and tips on clenching. It feels reassuring hearing from others who understand what I am feeling lol!

Re: One molar hitting first - new to braces
Hi! It does sounds like a similar issue. I also clench unconsciously, only at night. I wish I could control that. Does the premature contact bother you when you sleep as well? Looking at it this morning, my upper molars that were recently engaged seem to have moved a bit more, so now both back upper...

One molar hitting first - new to braces
Hi everyone! I have read many posts on this forum which has helped answer a lot of my questions. I got my braces on 11 weeks ago, so I am new to this all. I clench my teeth at night, which shifted my bite tremendously. I have decided to correct my bite with braces and get a proper night guard at the...
