Re: To anybody who's already had jaw surgery...

Taste your liquid diet foods BEFORE you get your surgery. There’s nothing like thinking something looks good and it ends up tasting awful. Buy ISOPURE protein. It’s the only thing that mixes completely. Drink lots of fluids. The swelling really does take FOREVER to go away. Even when all of your fri...

Re: 6 week and 8 week picture update

My upper jaw was moved forward 6.5 milimeters, cut into 3 places to widen and bring forward. No lower jaw surgery. Thank you for the compliment. I cant help but think that maybe both should have been worked on. for a less drastic change. I cannot stress enough for folks to get multiple opinions and ...

Thank you all! appreciate the compliments.

I'm very over analytical by nature. (I over analyze EVERYthing) It helps to get other people's perspectives.

How long until you were fairly happy with your smile.

Put some make-up on today and I felt pretty confident about my face. In fact I felt REALLY good (I'll have to post pictures later) So at what point were you happy with your smile. I know it takes a while for all of the muscles to wake up but at what point did your muscles wake up enough for you to s...

I still have 3 weeks on liquids and soft foods (no chewing) and I made a smoothie with one today. SOOooo much better than the blender.

Re: Is this normal or have I really screwed up my face?

I found out today that my doctor purposely bunched the tissue together in my upper lip to give me a fuller upper lip because upper jaw surgery usually thins out the upper lip and most people want a fuller upper lip. "More red" as he put it.

Did anyone else's doc do this? Is this SOP?

I'm so glad someone asked this. I'm 10 days post op. I was getting a little worried as my right side was starting to get feeing back but the left side of my face is taking a little longer.
