I have been in elastics my entire treatment and was told that I would remain in elastics for my entire treatment -- I was told this on day one... so I had better get used to it! I think I had my cross bite elastics in for maybe 5months? I can't remember... I have had multiple SOS appointments becaus...

I got a powerchain at an SOS appointment for something else. I was told that my original treatment plan did not include powerchains, so this came as a total surprise! Powerchains help close gaps, at least that is what they have done in my case. I don't know if my teeth are totally straight yet, but ...

Aspirin is what I take for pain, as Advil makes my stomach turn over and Tylenol does NOTHING.

I love my bite turbos behind my two front teeth!! They are so much better than the ones I had on my molars because these acutally work! My ortho kept on telling me he didn't want to use the kind behind the two front teeth because they would be uncomfortable, yadda yadda yadda... but I have fallen in...

Why have you become dependent on wax? It is important to wean yourself off of it... not use it 24/7 - I was told if I used it constantly, the pain would never go away. I use it sparingly and NEVER when I sleep!!

Within a day or two. My movement was immediate and I still see movement almost immediately after I get a new wire or they change something up -- springs, powerchains, elastics... yup -- I have had immediate movement, not to mention the pain that accompanies it.

My last "official adjustment" actually created a gap where there wasn't supposed to be one. I went in for an SOS appointment related to something else and they put on a powerchain to fix the gap. I have my next adjustment on the 11th too. I really want some new wires! They need to do somet...

The newness of my braces isn't there. I just suck on my mouth and teeth. I did this before braces too --- I am really kinda freaking out and I am glad I have an appointment in less than two weeks.

They may or may not take the wire off. My dentist's office DOES NOT take it off, just merely goes around it. I have cleanings every 3months. They will do special things to help clean them, but it won't really be that big of a deal.

That post makes reference to them a little further down in the post --- they appear to be an elastic config.

Sorry you are disappointed, as I would be too. It sounded like you had a moderate case to begin with - why didn't they just recommend regular braces in the start? Invisilgn isn't best for everyone. Braces as an adult isn't a big deal, even in college. You might have to make extra trips home to see y...

I have bonding already, while in braces, and I hope to get veneers put on the two bonded teeth before I get my retainers. I had peg incisors and they literally doubled the size of my teeth in front - but they told me the bonding wouldn't last forever and wouldn't be as strong. All I know about bondi...

Congrats on saving up the money for braces!! YAY!!! In terms of what type of braces would work best, only a doctor can tell you that. Looks can be decieving, so there is no telling what type you might work best in your case --- or if you will need extractions or something like that. Your teeth can b...
