I got over the slight lisp in a few days with my Essix. I can't tell if they're in my mouth anymore. They just feel very smooth. They were miles more comfortable than braces. You have nothing poking your cheeks and there's no pain.

I had turbos behind my two upper front teeth. I hated them so much. I had them for at least half the treatment and my tongue wasn't able to sit in a natural position. I ended up getting 2 scars on the end of my tongue from them, but it went away after my ortho grinded those bastards away.

My bite was off but my ortho grinded a few little spots down on my teeth and it's perfect now. He's right about the gap affecting your bite. You could get a Hawley retainer and he might be able to close it, but it will affect your bite.

Everyone's the same. Wait a couple of weeks and you won't even notice them.

I used special flossing picks that were very thin on one side so they could fit between the wire and the tooth. I could floss normally for some teeth, but proper flossing is getting underneath the gums, just at the crown of the tooth.

I would say wait it out until a week has gone by. Once your pain has subsided, you may have a different opinion. Don't rush into a decision you may regret.
