My wife just finished treatment of crowding and a crossbite with just elastics and it didn't fix the crossbite. She is in her mid forties and was treated for 29 months.

I have metal on the bottom and aligners on top and I prefer the metal , the aligners are more of a hassle.

If it were me I would want the gap closed before debracing, If you had some pics I think you would get more comments.

definatly look into NOT having extractions because that is irreversable. I almost went with one ortho that wanted to remove three teeth but am trying zero teeth because you can always go the extraction route if need be.
