Re: Will I regret metal braces on the top teeth?
I am an adult and I have all metal braces. I don't mind in the least. I enjoy using colored ligs and powerchains. I figure if I am going to have braces, I might as well em"brace" them

Re: feeling frustrated
I too am being treated for mild crowding on the bottom, a deep bite and just general lining up of teeth. I have read somewhere that fixing the bite takes the longest. I have been in full braces for almost 8 months and the ortho is still working on straightening my teeth. He has not even started work...

Re: Insignia custom made damon brackets at 40
The molar build-ups are the WORST! I have had mine since day 1 and have had them built up many, many times due to my grinding.
I can't wait for them to be gone, and be able to chew with all of my teeth again.
Good luck to you- the time does pass quicker then you think

Re: Tooth moving wrong way.
My ortho has told me multiple times "It will get worse before it gets better." I have to remind myself of that a LOT! <sigh> I am impatient, and can't wait to see progress. I have teeth that are moving so slowly! haha...

Re: Elastic vs wire ligature?
The wire is used in places where they want to apply extra tension to achieve specific movement. I think that because ligs loose some of their tension after a while, the wire provides constant tension to help those difficult teeth move into position. That is my take on the wire. I have two teeth that...

Re: The dreaded "Black Triangles"
OH boy I have the mother of a black triangle, with an other one forming on the other side! I asked my ortho about them, and he said that as my teeth move, they will get worse, and better, and when we are all finished he can do some IPR to help them. He said that I should not be overly concerned abou...

Re: Starting to get an unexpected gap in my front teeth!
Well I can tell you that you are probably in the "It gets worse before it gets better" stage. Most of us have to go thru it to get to the other side. My teeth have been in that stage for several months, and I am *cough, cough* patiently waiting to get to the other side.... <sigh>.....Hopef...

Re: Braces at 55
Hello, Back again, finally. Very excited too! I have found an excellent Ortho with a masters in Orthodontics no less and only 1/2 hour from me. Have had full xray's, photo's, measurements AND molds. I had to take a valium and use an anesthetic mouth wash to get through the molds (I was a real space...

Re: Does everyone get spacers?
I do not have molar bands, only brackets on all teeth, so don't need the spacers.
