Re: Finally doing it! Damon braces for bite issues
Should update. Was able to get in last week; got a steel wire on bottom. Still in the crossbite bands. They must not only be doing their job on bottom but also on top. I'm developing a nice little gap between my front tooth and one of my laterals, and also between several of my bottom teeth. The pic...

Re: How is everybody doing??? Hanging in there???
I'm doing good. I had an appointment pushed back but so far it's still on for next week. Being home more sure makes it easier to keep up on the hygiene aspect. I think the extra time on my hands gives me more chances to notice the remaining imperfections in my teeth, but then I have to remember I'm ...

Re: Ortho Positives from Covid-19
I'll admit, the mask hiding my braces is nice. On the other hand, though it may just be where I am in my treatment, I have more time on my hands & I am noticing the remaining imperfections in my teeth more.

Re: Finally doing it! Damon braces for bite issues
OFFICIAL 13 Month update:
Appointment got pushed back a couple of weeks due to Corona. Currently scheduled for May 7; hopefully that will hold.
Top wire and rubber bands appear to be working, as far as I can see. Pics in the next post.

13 Months In!
I've had braces for 13 months now. Some days I love having braces. One, they feel like they have become a part of me. Two, the ability to improve myself in some way. Three, I got them for a painful bite and the pain I had before is gone. Other days, I'm ready to be done with them. To see my new teet...

Re: Finally doing it! Damon braces for bite issues
I am now officially in the rubber band club. Got hooks on the back of my top first molars, wearing elastics between those and the brackets on the bottom first molars. Also got put in a .019x.019 extra-wide wire to tip my top teeth out some more.

Night before my next appointment. Molars have moved quite a bit in just six weeks. Will post an update tomorrow, expecting some upgrades.

Re: First powerchain and rectangular wire
Would agree. I look back at my teeth when I first got braces vs. now and the thicker wire makes a difference appearance-wise. Currently have .018x018 square wires on both top & bottom, a lot more visible than the .014 round wires I had to start with.

Re: Finally doing it! Damon braces for bite issues
My ortho was talking about putting my top teeth in an wide-arch wire so I bet he's going to try to tip them out a bit next. That would create some more room I bet so I hope that means extractions are off the table.

Welcome! Glad to have you. Yeah this place has been a bit quiet lately but there are some regulars. I'm 11 months in myself so I don't have a ton myself but I also want to put my name out there as well in case anyone ever has a question.

Re: Got Braces in College at 21
Agreed. Braces are nothing to worry about. I would try to hide mine but then again I'm a bit of a grump anyway. But still, keep up the good work and if you ever have any questions, comments, or if you want to share updates, don't be a stranger!
