Re: Root canal and braces
How could the tooth have gone bad if the root was removed during the root canal? They do not remove your root during a root canal -- if they did the tooth would fall out. If you do a search I wrote a lengthy post about root resorption a while back. You may find some helpful info there.

FWIW, the more often you have adjustments often the slower the teeth move.

Re: 4 Second Premolar Extraction
Yes some people are congenitally missing their 2nd premolars.
Some are missing their 3rd molars (wisdom teeth) and some their lateral incisors.
Those are probably the most common congenitally missing teeth.

Re: OVERJET...SECOND OPINION PLEASE!
I dont think you can reduce it any more w/out lower braces. I wouldnt want to tip your uppers back anymore they seem pretty upright to me already hard to get all of the info from a few pics but I think you are pretty much where you are going to end up. Some minor changes perhaps by doing some reprox...

Re: Whitening before braces?
You can also do lazer whitening (that's what I am going to do after I am done). That will be expensive but fast and longer lasting .

Re: Just got braces on and turbo bites are cutting my tongue
They shouldnt be 'cutting' you. Are they sharp when you feel them with your fingers? Are they the mtal or composite (tooth colored filling material) type. Any sharp edges can be smoothed down if they are actually cutting you. If they are just rubbing then that is a trickier situation and you might h...

Re: Will a bonded retainer prevent a second relapse?
Drrick, I'm sorry if I keep repeating myself while looking for an answer to my concerns. I have another question. How would you prevent an extruded tooth to go back in? Overcorrection if possible and retention. If a hawley will often add anextra wire at the gum level to engage the tooth and keep it...

Same answer as above.

Re: Solving Gum Recession Before Braces?
I send lots of pts t the periodontist for gum grafts before braces. Depending on the individual pts circumstances recession can get worse durig braces ane we do not want straight teeth that then do not have the proper bone support. Different drs have different opinions about this (and everything else)

Re: Gaps that won't close
Could be an occlusal interference. Bite may need to be opened a bit more or the back of the upper teeth polished a touch to give more room for space closure.
