Re: "But your teeth are fine! Why waste money?"

I didn't tell anyone either until after they were on. I did not want any negative comments or someone trying to talk me out of a decision that took several years to make.

Re: Brackets on molars

I had trouble with the bands on my lower back molars. There was a space between my tooth and the band on the bottom. My problem was that my teeth were crowns. I needed to go back in a few days cause it was ripping my tongue apart. I knew something was wrong and there was no way I could go thru two y...

Re: "But your teeth are fine! Why waste money?"

I sort of had the same experience. Before getting braces I asked so many close friends their honest opinion of my teeth and if I needed braces. They all answered that they never noticed they were crooked. Now, my front teeth are pretty straight (almost) they are all amazed at how good they are looki...

Re: 31 with braces!

Congratulations! It is an obsession to look at your teeth in the beginning. it is very normal. My two front top teeth were very crooked and they are looking pretty good after only 7 weeks.

Good luck!

Re: Becoming Frustrated

I noticed some movement at the 3 week mark. I also obsessed with looking in the mirror for any changes. I did find that my flossing told me there were changes going on. I am only at the 6 week mark and am excited for all the small changes that are going on. I know I have to be patient also. Good luck.

Re: Braces Newbie at 30!

I know what you mean about teeth hitting each other. My top braces went on 6 weeks ago and the bottom went on 2 weeks ago. My left side is really hitting down hard and hitting different spots. My ortho had discussed a bite plate if it becomes a problem. I don't have an appointment for a few weeks an...

Re: Advice: Bands on teeth with crowns?

Success. I got the bands on my lower crown molars and everything went great. They cut one band very short and the other one is just the bracket on the outside cemented to the tooth.

Now I am just getting use to the rackets on my lower teeth. Pretty sore right now.

Re: Advice: Bands on teeth with crowns?

The problems I had with the bands on my lower crowned molars is that the teeth are much smaller on the bottom part of the tooth. This left a gap between the tooth and the band. I thought this was normal and I would just get use to it. After ripping my tongue apart for a few days I went back and they...

Re: a grinder and new here

Good teeth are worth preserving at any age. It beats implants and dentures any day. I have my braces on again (age 57) and am so glad I made the decision to do so.

Knowledge is power. Consult an orthodontist and go from there. Good luck!

Re: Advice: Bands on teeth with crowns?

Thanks for your info. My ortho said he will bond one and use a smaller band on the other one.
Glad to hear it can work out with crowns.

Braces again at 57

Hi I had braces in my twenties but over the years my teeth have shifted. My top front left tooth really started to turn 3 years ago. I also have spaces again on the bottom where I had to lower teeth removed the first time I had braces. If I didn't fix the problem now I would surely have had a very p...
