Re: Hi Im new! My story

Welcome!

It is an amazing process. I only have my braces on 3 months and was embarrassed also in the beginning. Trust me when I say you will get over that feeling very fast.

Good luck!

Re: Getting Braces Next Week How to Tell People?

I didn't tell anyone except my significant other about what I was doing. I called my adult children the night I got them on and told them. My thoughts were that this is what I needed to do for myself and didn't want any negative opinions. To my close friends I just opened my mouth and showed them. A...

Re: I'm new. How do you do?

Welcome to this awesome site! One of my wake up calls as to why I really needed braces were having grandchildren. I knew my teeth had been shifting but after the grand babies were born all the photos of us were close up photos. Yikes! I didn't realize how bad they really looked. I got clear radiance...

Re: Wiggling tooth

I don't know how wiggly your tooth is but I have had several feel wiggly when they are on the move. I just try not to push them with my tongue or finger. They firm back up and then another one will start. They seem to take turns at moving. If you think it is a problem always consult with your ortho.

Re: 57 and braces again

I went for my first adjustment today and things went great. Ortho is very pleased with my progress especially with the bottom teeth. I have a premolar that needed to be rotated out. It has really moved a lot with the power chain on. We just changed the ligatures today. Changing them was easier and l...

Re: 57 and braces again

Thanks Uptown girl! It is amazing to see the progress. I am still a little nervous about my adjustment tomorrow. Keeping my fingers crossed that the bottom ligatures go on easier than the last time.

Re: 57 and braces again

I go for my first adjustment in two days. I should be excited because there have been lots of movement with my teeth. I can't wait for my ortho to give me his assessment of my progress. What I am not looking forward to is having the ligatures changed. I have clear ligatures and had them changed righ...

Re: ouch now wearing 4 banded brackets

I needed to have my lower bands removed because they did not fit properly. The ortho used an electric tool sort of like a mini saw. He cut the outside and then it just popped off. Very easy and no trouble at all.

Re: Ceramic vs. Metal Braces... Advice Needed for a Newbie!

Welcome and good luck on your journey. I have clear radiance braces on top and bottom. They are bigger but they are made from sapphires and the ortho can do the same with them as with metal. They cost more but I didn't care about that. I really wanted something less conspicuous. the ligatures can st...

Re: I'm starting to notice...

I know I am one of the older ones in braces but I do not feel funny at all about it. i wasted 3 years trying to figure out another way to fix my shifting teeth. My front left tooth had left its borders and was rotating in front of the right one. Basically everyone just ignores them and do not make a...
