Re: Ridingboots - EmBracing the Journey

Hey Ridingboots, hang in there. I won't be getting an expander but just looking at the pictures make me glad my case doesn't call for one. It really looks like it will take time to get use to. Yay for weight loss! What woman doesn't want to loose weight! Ha ha. I am sure your ortho will do a great j...

Re: 57 and braces again

Hi Skeetergirl, getting braces was one of the best things I did for myself. I have no regrets even at my age. I look into all sorts of cosmetic dentistry (a fast fix) but came to the conclusion that braces was the only and BEST way to go. i wear the clear radiance braces and some people just think I...

Re: 57 and braces again

I have my next adjustment later this month. I will be getting new arch wires in top and bottom. One week later I have my 6 month cleaning with my regular dentist. I am wondering how sensitive my teeth will be for the cleaning. Maybe I am just over-thinking this. I have only had one wire change so fa...

Re: Carriere, Lingual Arch, Ceramic Braces at 58

Sorry to hear about your accident on the ice. I live in the north also and have been dealing with a lot of ice and snow this winter. I know what you mean when you say you are back to square one with the pain level. Hopefully this will pass soon and you will be back on track. It sounds like you have ...

http://i50.photobucket.com/albums/f342/Mtm57/001_zpsjyhmpneb.jpg Here is a current picture of my progress. 5 months into treatment. I am so excited about the space between my top front teeth! They have been crossed for so long that to see that space is a good thing. My bite has become more open tha...

Re: Second and hopefully last braces experience

Hi, I had trouble with bands on my lower molars. After one weekend I could not take my tongue being ripped apart by the bottom of the bands. I figured this could not be normal and the thought of going thru this for 24 months was unbearable. I made an appointment with my ortho and they examined it an...

Re: Today is the day!!! So nervous!!

Congrats on your decision to get braces. They are definitely worth all the time and trouble.

Teeth will continue to shift as you get older. You are doing the right thing.

I was very self-conscious the first two months but after that I forget they are even there.

Good luck.

Re: braces or invisalign

metal braces!

I have heard that kids wil not wear their trays (some adults stop also) when they are not with you.

Also, Invisalign can only move the teeth so much.

Get a few estimates from a couple of Orthodontis. They will probably advise you to get metal.

First...Congratulations on becoming a mom! That is fantastic news.

Your teeth look great! I think you will be done sooner than 24 months.

Re: How aften are your adjustments?

I only have my braces on for 4 months now.

i do my adjustments every 7 weeks but I stop in around week 4 to have the ligs changed. The office I go to is fantastic and tell their radiance (clear) brace patients just to call and they can fit us in to refreshen our ligs.

Re: I got my braces 3 days ago

Hang in there! It does get better. I went thru almost 3 months of sore and tender teeth before I could really eat normally. I went thru seperators, top braces. 4 weeks later more seperators and then bottom braces. I read on this site that i would "turn the corner" and things would get better. It fin...

Re: Cold Feet! 24 hours until braces being fitted!!

It is just anxiety of having braces as adults. I had cold feet and even questioned if I was doing the right thing for a few weeks after getting braces. A few short weeks later I was over my initial shock of having braces on. I started seeing movement and that is when I really got excited. Now it is ...
