Re: Linguals, acceledent, and impacted canines (oh my!)
You are definitely right. I would not mind keeping the top on beyond that time when it comes. Only issue is speech, as you said I had a small period of time where speech was perfect- about 3-4 months in. After I got a rectangular wire it reverted some. It's still completely fine but it is still diff...

Re: Linguals, acceledent, and impacted canines (oh my!)
Movement has occurred. Now on wire 3/5 on top and apparently on pace to have the tops perfect by April or may which will only have been 7-8 months total. By then, they will decide if I get the top off or keep them on a bit longer if bite isn't perfect yet. My midline was perfect just two weeks ago a...

Re: How long did it take for your ortho to put brackets on "that one crooked tooth?"
Woo hoo I can stop complaining now! The crooked tooth is officially on the move. No bracket yet but there is a button that is attached to a couple neighboring teeth using a power chain. Once there is enough surface area it will get a bracket. I'm obviously hoping for next appointment but just happy ...

Re: How long did it take for your ortho to put brackets on "that one crooked tooth?"
Patience is wearing thin for this one tooth... now at 5 months and while there is now plenty of space and every other tooth is straight on that arch, it is still just too crooked (almost 90 degrees) to get on the wire. Appointment tomorrow and I'm going to ask what the game plan is.

Re: Lingual Braces- How "incognito" are they???
Second what sink said. Tops not visible whatsoever, bottoms can be somewhat visible. I think most people who I talk to regularly such as coworkers and friends have at some point or another realized I have braces, but even my SO forgets they are there most of the time. I think the way I talk to try t...

THis is my nightmare but you are taking it in stride and with a good attitude! It'll be over before you know it and at least your results should be perfect!

Re: Ceramic Braces Story @ 28
My teeth did the same thing. Still one is longer than the other! But I am pretty sure it is just caused by the force of that one out of place tooth being pulled in. That's what caused mine
And it should work itself out!

Re: Linguals, acceledent, and impacted canines (oh my!)
Haha I love it! I am going to stock up on rice now to conceal the gaps and have a convenient snack. Gaps are an interesting occurrence for me since my issue is not having space, but I am not too determined to complain since it is some sort of change and that's what I have been waiting on for 4 months!

Re: Linguals, acceledent, and impacted canines (oh my!)
Ugh ugh ugh! Feeling the "worse before it is better" so bad right now! Making space is such a slow process and an unattractive one at that! But changes are changes and the end result is at worst 1.5 years away so I am still excited!

Re: Ever wonder if ortho/staff are not doing great?
Thanks for the awesome responses everyone! I am going to give it a couple more months and see how things go and then if I am still feeling the same I will get a second consult. One point I forgot to mention is that I did get a sort of "video progression" from the lingual bracket/wire maker...

Ever wonder if ortho/staff are not doing great?
I know the general consensus is "the ortho always knows best" but surely I am not the only one who regularly wonders if their ortho (or the assistants) is doing the right thing? I mean if you think about it... it's not like all regular dentists or even physicians always do the right thing ...

Re: IMPACTED CANINES CLUB
Doubler- sounds about right. My upper partially impacted canine did the same thing to a lesser extent- it was 1/3 of the way down when I got my braces on and now it is 1-2 mm from being fully in place, but the force of pulling that canine down did pull my front tooth and incisor on that side up some...
