Re: Invisalign retainers - essix, bonded or wire?

Yeah my treatment includes first 3 sets of Viveras (basically invisalign branded essix), so I will go with them. But my preference (for the first year at least) would be viveras AND a bonded retainer. I may suggest this to my ortho and see what he says. I am also very curious about which is best - l...

Re: gum irritation...normal?

I am guessing its normal, although havent seen that many complaints from people about it to be honest. If they are noticably red, then just give your Ortho a call, always the best solution! Maybe a mild allergic reaction to the plastic, or bottom of the retainers rubbing against the gumline? If so, ...

Re: Spare Essix tight?

There are quite a few stories I have read on here that retainers must be changed regularly, including with essix. If you have been wearing your old essix retainers for a while, it is possible they have stretched out over time, and your teeth have started to relapse. Invisalign currently suggest (wit...

Re: What is safe to drink with Invisalign?

So I've been told by my dentist (and as in the Invisalign manual), all you can drink with them is plain water (not hot water, and not freezing cold water). Other people do have other drinks whilst wearing the aligners (maybe using a straw), but I personally wouldn't recommend it.... I have spent too...

Re: Poll: Did You Have An Allergic Reaction to Invisalign?

It has been 3 weeks, and so far no problems at all!

Only minor thing I have had was two ulcers where the attachments ("buttons") rubbed against my gums on the first day. With a bit of bongela that cleared up after couple of days, and not come back since.

Re: Your bite.... the best form of retention?!

Lol yeah maybe you are right. I'll see if I can find the article (it came from a few hours of googling invisalign lol) and post the link on here, was pretty short but thought it was quite interesting. I guess the way I thought about it was not so much your teeth moving, more that biting together is ...

Your bite.... the best form of retention?!

Bit of a background info... I applied for Inman Aligners >1yr ago, but was told I wasn't suitable. I have now decided to go for Invisalign, which hopefully I will start in the next 2 months (if all goes according to plan this time  ). It has been an epic amount of time since my last post, so ...

Ive just had a bit of a major setback now :/ After having the moulds done, the IA lab has come back and said one of my incisors is causing too much trouble for the treatment - I could still have it done, but it would mean way too much IPR (tooth slimming) on the incisor, arch expanders, plus a fair ...

Hey Drrick :) Yes I think it was resorption that I was talking about!! I found the article you mentioned, was really informative, thanks! Reassuring to read. I've now just been searching for any articles specifically relating IA's to resorption... there doesn't seem to be much out there unfortunatel...

Loose teeth after treatment - Braces or Inman Aligner

Hey guys :) I'm interested to know for how long (if at all) have peoples teeth feel wobbly/loose after their treatment? How long before biting into hard foods was not a problem? I'm planning on getting Inman Aligners... For the dentally-concerned amongst us, please turn away now lol... ...I recently...
