Re: Flossing with a Quad Helix? - FRUSTRATED!

You've got my sympathy for sure! My suggestion would be a water pik and Glide threader floss. If you learned how to floss without a threader, then you should be a whiz with the threader floss. It may be a situation that you just do the best you can until the dreaded thing comes out! If you are worri...

Re: I'm 54 what was I thinking???

Hi there! It's never too late to take steps to obtain the beautiful smile you've always wanted! I'm 58, and started on my journey in July,2010. I will have upper and lower jaw surgery in late spring/early summer...what kind of surgeries are you having?

You have come to the right forum for support!

Re: What do you tell yourself...

When I was newly braced last summer, I found that cold drinks helped. Now, after 6 months, hot drinks feel really good. I'm enjoying my morning coffee even more these days! We are programmed to think pain=something bad. I've tried to reframe the discomfort-thing to view it as a minor inconvenience w...

Re: Ortho Chipped my tooth!

What a horrible office visit! I don't know much about it, but I have seen before and after pics of gum recontouring, and the results can be amazing. You might want to do some online research on the subject and ask your ortho.

Re: Infections and problems with the screws

Did your surgeon prescribe antibiotics? If so, you definitely need to take them. That would be the first step in treating the problem. If antibiotics do no take care of it, then you can explore other options with your doctor. Good luck.

Re: Anyone here do 12 hour shifts? (? about returning to wor

I'll be in the same situation late spring/early summer. I'm planning on taking 8 weeks. My surgeon bands shut for 6 weeks, so I am hoping I can talk and function well enough to get through the first few weeks on the job without too much problem. I doubt I could do back-to-back shifts, though. I will...

After a year of insignificant improvement, I'd say give it a try. You don't have anything to lose, and a lot to gain if it works for you.

All of you have such amazing results, and serve as a great inspiration to those of us awaiting surgery. If it weren't for those of you who share your stories and pictures, many of us wouldn't even consider such radical surgery. It says a lot about this forum, that people who have been unhappy with t...
