Thanks for the encouragement everyone who's been responding! Yesterday I spent tons of money on stuff relating to the spacers and braces. I bought a Dentakit, a charger and new brush-heads for my Sonicare, a made-for-braces sports mouthguard for rugby, a Waterpik Ultra, and enough soft food to feed ...

I know I haven't updated this, or even been on Archwired for awhile, and I'm sorry to keep you all waiting. I started second semester classes this week and I've been overwhelmed with homework. But I'm back! I am getting spacers on Tuesday! Eeek! Time has sure flown by fast since I made my appointme...

As for soft snacks, I love yogurt, my favorite flavors include vanilla, stawberry, banana, blueberry, and peach. However, I am not a big fan of the fruit-on-the-bottom yogurt, I prefer it pre-stirred. I also love pudding of every flavor, even tapioca pudding is good (though I suppose the tapiocas mi...

I don't have to put any money down, and I will be paying $129 a month, no interest, throughout my ~31 months of treatment. I also paid $129 for my records and I will have to pay around $500 or so for my retainers at the end. If the insurance works out (which it probably will but I'm awaiting the pre...

I finally have a brace day!
I just thought I'd let everyone know that I got everything sorted out and I'm getting spacers on January 30th and my b-day is set for one week after that, February 4th, 2007 at 8AM!
Also, I started a thread in the Braces Stories forum. It's pretty vague and I start to ramble, but read if you wish!

Brace Yourself for the Sallymonster! (updated)
Hello everyone, I've posted on Metal Mouth Forum several times, but now that I finally have a brace day I've decided to start my own "braces story"! My name is Sally and I'm 19 years old. I grew up in the Seattle area, but I moved to Portland when I was 18 and have been living there since....

Sally, I'm only 23. I know I'm not young anymore, sniffle :( but I'm not that old either! I don't know when your jaw stops growing though- maybe it's at 20. Don't worry, you're not old yet, you're not much older than me! I'm not sure when jaw growth stops, but I think if I were younger there would ...

I have a deep bite and a moderate overjet, and I went for three consultations. Two orthos each gave me the options of Herbst, extractions, or surgery. The other ortho said that I would either need surgery or my overjet wouldn't get fully corrected. Well, there's just no way I'm getting surgery, I ca...
