Re: IMPACTED CANINES CLUB
Hey guys, I’m getting my canine exposure done in 3 weeks time and I’m sesame myself. I’m 23 and had braces on for 4.5 months now, I’ll be getting it done awake in the dental chair by an oral surgeon. I’ll be taking a 5mg valium before getting there, what’s some tips so I can stop being nervous? I r...

Re: Braces teeth clicking and popping
I had the exact same thing happen to me in the first few months of me getting my braces. As far as I'm aware your teeth are looser because your braces are moving and when your press them and they're popping they're being pushed back into their place. It just shows your teeth are moving. I personally...

Re: Damon braces at 25yrs: Short back story
Congratulations on getting your braces! You're pretty similar to me, similar age with an impacted canine (and that I'd also wanted Invisalign!) Hope your braces joruney runs smoothly! Has your ortho discussed your treatment for your impacted canine?

Re: Update to braces at 33
Good luck for your braces journey! What type are you getting? Just a little hint that my ortho told me when I had spacers. One of my came out (I may have been prodding it) and I spent about an hour putting it back in holding tweezers on either end of the band to stretch it to get back in. If one fal...

Re: Early Braces Removal (Fully Corrected) / Refund?
It would depend on your contract but I think there's no harm in asking. I would assume the answer will be no however. I personally have paid a fixed price with the assumption that my braces will be done in 2 years. If it's done in less time I continue to pay for the outstanding time, if it's done in...

Re: IMPACTED CANINES CLUB
So I had my surgery on Thursday. I no longer have a right canine and instead, I have 3 dissolvable stitches and 1 stitch holding my gold chain onto a bracket!! I had mine under local anaesthetic and I was so surprised that the anaesthetic worked instantaneously. Hearing my baby tooth come out was a ...

Re: IMPACTED CANINES CLUB
So I finally have my exposure booked in on Thursday!! Just a couple of questions that I forgot to ask on my assessment (because I was so excited to be at the excited!) - Did people have a particularly large recovery time? - How long was it before you ate normally? - How long was it before the stitch...

Re: Ceramic braces concerns
I just got clear ceramic braces with clear ligatures. They do look a lot better than metal, but I am paranoid about staining the ligatures. Anyone know what I can and can’t eat? I’m so lost! I've got clear and I completely agree with the post above, stay away from turmeric and curry. I've personall...

Just out of curiosity what do the coil springs do? How are you finding them?

Re: They're on! How do I eat...?
In my experience you'll want to be on a soft food diet for the next week just because of braces, let alone if the ortho had to force some wires in. I personally wanted to eat harder food but my teeth hurt so much that I just stuck with soft food. I only had bite blocks on the rear of my teeth so it ...

Re: IMPACTED CANINES CLUB
Add me to the club as well! My top right caning is impacted :( I had no idea this was such a common thing! Up until I heard I had it, I had never even heard such a thing could happen... I'll have my braces put on next month. I still have my little baby canine in the place where the impacted one sho...

Re: Back in Braces - EEK!
When you get your posts up would you mind posting a picture? I currently am 24 and have braces to resolve spacing and that is something I have been worrying about. I know my teeth are small so I can't imagine how they will look all small and together and at least seeing what yours have looked I will...

Re: clear or metal?
Good luck for bonding! I went with ceramic and I don't regret it at all. I've not really suffered from my ligatures staining (other than the time I ate Singaporean noodles that turns out were covered in turmeric). Having ceramic really helped me at the beginning when I got them to cope with the diff...

Re: Tips after getting braces
There's nothing that I really wish I had known before as I've found everything I've learnt just part of the braces experience.
The only thing that might've helped is buying all the paracetamol and ibuprofen before I got them applied because I was a bit overwhelmed with how bad my teeth hurt.

I have fixed braces, not Invisalign but that's exactly what has happened for me
