Re: Show of hands if you’ve had a POSITIVE experience post extractions
I found out a few weeks back that my brother in law had his two upper first premolars extracted and his right lower first premolar when he was 17, he hated his braces and got them off a year early so he never finished his treatment until now, he's 27 and just finished his orthodontic work. Before th...

Re: Finally fixing my teeth.
Ohhhh exciting update! I finish this round of aligners on the 7th of February! I was supposed to go until aligner 35 but he said he isn't bothering with the last three of this set because he only got them for if my gaps haven't closed up and he said they're already closed so he's extremely happy wit...

Re: Finally fixing my teeth.
Okay guys, I still haven't got my old laptop yet to get my photos off of it so I'll just use the ones I have on my phone, the only issue I have with them is that they're pretty awful quality but hopefully they don't come up too bad on here. My before pictures I took when I was in the dentist chair, ...

Re: Has anyone noticed a change in their wrinkles?
I was just speaking to my boss about this! She had invisalign like me so I get a lot of tips off of her but she said one of the things shes most happy about is that her wrinkles around her mouth (I think she called them the 'smile lines') have smoothed out quite a bit because she had a very narrow u...

Re: Invisalign on Bottom, Braces on top
I think that would be possible for sure. I have invisalign and with my elastic, they just modify your aligners a little to either hook the elastic onto them or cut a hole so they can glue a little attachment to a tooth, it's surprisingly really quick and easy haha. I don't think there would be an is...

Re: Invisalign not tracked
I recently had one tooth like that, It got worse over the course of about 4 weeks. If I pushed on the aligner where it wasn't fitting, it would push up a little but kind of 'fall' back down, not snug fitting. When I was getting really concerned I called my ortho and they said they would check it at ...

Re: Finally fixing my teeth.
Wow guys! I can't believe how long it's been since I updated! I've been so busy, I actually got a promotion at work (Yay!) but it meant much more travelling than I was doing originally so I haven't had much time to myself at all. I don't know where to begin, my teeth are so different now. I think it...

Re: How long does it take for teeth to close in the Gap after extraction?
Definitely agree with djspeece, I think it does indeed depend on bone density :) I only had one extraction, a lower incisor, and my ortho said he would love to give me a very specific answer but he has had people whose gaps have closed in 4 months and some whose have taken a four years! I was like w...

Re: What to expect with ClinCheck appointment?
That's okay, lots of people are very unsure about refinement stages. I don't think most people end up using all three refinement stages though anyway, most people go through one refinement and are very happy with the outcome by then so they leave it at that :) Yes, once the Clincheck gets the 'okay'...

Re: What to expect with ClinCheck appointment?
Yes I was also a bit confused about refinements! I remember my orthodontist talking about them and saying '99% chance you'll need refinements' and I didn't really take much notice but then got curious so I asked him. The treatment time he gave me was 2 years, but he said my initial sets of aligners ...

Re: What to expect with ClinCheck appointment?
In my clincheck appointment, my orthodontist had to be present only because he wanted to discuss my extraction with me, so he was going through all the options but was showing me how that option was the best. I think if it's pretty straight forward, they would show you the video that has been compil...

Re: Is 52 Too Old For Braces?
I personally think as long as your teeth are healthy enough to move, you're never too old for braces! If I get to 70 and my teeth have shifted back and they're still healthy, I would be going for another round of teeth straightening for sure. Definitely talk to your dentist about your bite, if your ...

Re: Are extractions unavoidable in my case?
I'm definitely not a professional on premolar extractions but I have done a lot of researching about them. I think seeing as you have extreme buck teeth, extractions will help you a lot especially because you mentioned your teeth rest on your lower lip. I know lots of people have bad things to say a...

Re: Surgery and invisaliagn?
I personally don't have experience with the surgery part, but my orthodontist once said to me that any orthodontist who says Invisalign can only help small problems is a doctor who doesn't have enough experience with invisalign. A dentist told me there was no way in hell that I was a candidate for I...
