Re: February 2012 Surgery Buddies
I expect Woodwillow is in surgery even as I write this. I hope everything went well and she is able to post soon. Worldpeace, I guess you are next. Are you all ready? I've hit the 2 week mark. I was blenderizing soups and smoothies last night. I have no idea how much to make but I'd rather have a st...

Re: January 2012 Buddies!
My sympathies to all the swollen people. Glad to hear that the surgeries went well and recovery has started.
Ashleigh, 8 hours! I knew they were doing a lot but that's a long time to be in surgery. I know you are swollen but do you notice any changes in your breathing yet?

Re: February 2012 Surgery Buddies
Bologna smoothie - wow, that's awful! Well, I shouldn't say anything..I might be craving one in a few weeks! :) I know that the weight loss won't be terribly healthy. My orthodontist told me about 20 lbs but the surgeon told me 10. Who knows? We should get our friends and family to set up a betting ...

Re: February 2012 Surgery Buddies
Woodwillow, you sound very prepared.
There are a lot of people worried about losing weight during the surgery. I know it isn't a time to diet but is anyone secretly hoping that some of those pounds disappear and don't come back?

Re: February 2012 Surgery Buddies
Woodwillow, good luck with your appointment tomorrow. Welcome, worldpeace. So far it seems to be the 3 of us for February. I'm in shopping mode too. I'm starting to work on food preparation. I've got a lot of personal activities coming up (birthday parties, etc) so I'm trying to get things done when...

Re: January 2012 Buddies!
Ashleigh, that sounds like a lot of stuff to take in. All I could think from reading your post is how much better you are going to breathe when this is done. Any word from Olive? Rivvie, hope you have a pain free day soon. I still have 3 weeks before mine but it is going quickly. All 3 of my kids ha...

Re: January 2012 Buddies!
Rivvie, good luck today!!! I had my appointment yesterday. It was pretty boring. I sat with a group of people and watched a generic video that all surgery patients have to watch. I had blood drawn, an EKG and talked about pain control. The nurse could only answer very general questions. She told me ...

keeponsmiling, I feel for you..so close but so far away. I'm going to my pre-op today so I'll be thinking of you. I hope you at least get a really early March date.

Re: February 2012 Surgery Buddies
Hi, WoodWillow nice to see another February person on here. I'm scheduled for February 17 so I guess you can go first and tell me all about it :) I'm having BSSO done. I'm trying to focus on a positive outcome and not think about the possibility of it going wrong. Fortunately, work has been very sup...

BSSO and unstable jaw joint?
The oral surgeon says I have early arthritis in one of my jaws and he might not be able to do the BSSO if it isn't stable. At the same time, he says I'll get worse arthritis if I don't get it fixed. Anybody been through this? Did you have to have treatment for your jaw joint BEFORE surgery? I'm so w...
