Another one with inwards tilted teeth here. My case has similarities to jennielee81 but my crowding is more severe. My ortho will make room for my crooked teeth by tipping my front ones outward.

Its possible you have a powerchain and that is what you're mistaking for ligatures. Powerchains are often used to close extraction gaps. Not so far - I've been with my boyfriend 2.5 years and only had the braces on since this February.

It hasn't affected our relationship in any way.

Overall, when out and about - I've not had any comments or stares or anything nasty like that.

Along with all the water tips I'll add a little extra reassurance.

You will get EXTREMELY proficient in removing the gunk from your teeth with your tongue as you get more used to the braces

It's a bit weird when you think you're teeth have done with the pain until the next adjustment and then BAM you wake up with them sore!

Very nice! I think you're right about braces highlighting how crooked one's teeth are. I mean, to look at your smile without braces it looks pretty good - then braces on BAM all the changes that need to be made are revealed!
