Re: Braces for grinding and headaches
With the spacers in, my custom made mouth guard no longer fits. And I'm still grinding my teeth. (I'm also pretty sure my teeth have have moved from the spacers alone.) So I went out to the store to get a new one. I didn't want to get molded because I don't want to stop teeth movement, but I've neve...

If you're having trouble with the wax, you could give these a try. Looks like most people wear them as they sleep. Not sure how recommended they are.

Re: Brushing Habits
I've read that with braces, you should brush your teeth after every time you eat.

Re: Bruxism and braces
I know this post is old, but I wasn't finding the information I was look for elsewhere. And I'm hoping some recent people can jump in from here and add to the discussion. I have spacers in, and I can tell I'm grinding my teeth at night, so I'm concerned about grinding with braces. I think it would b...

I would keep insisting. Even if it will work itself out later, she needs to at least acknowledge your concerns.

Re: Adult braces resulting in noticeable facial asymmetry
I'm sorry this happened to you. It sounds like your ortho is working to correct it. I'd trust they know what they're doing. Hang in there.

Re: Enamel ruined from braces removal?
I just moved but I emailed an ortho lastnight in my area to see what they could do but I don't think anything can :( I been using Sensodyne and MI Paste on the front tooth that is brothing me, it's not working. The pain went away for a couple days a few weeks ago but is back. I'm crossing my toes a...

Re: Enamel ruined from braces removal?
You'd think we'd have some better technology than let's grind this glue off your teeth. I wouldn't have gotten braces if I knew that :( I paid my balance off and he took them off leaving my teeth awful. Two dentist told me they could fix it and one tried. This is how mine look. Link below. My front ...

I would definitely ask your ortho if you're concerned. Your pics look great, but he/she would know what they're talking about.

Re: Just saying hello
In regards to cleaning a bite plate, I would call your ortho's office just to be sure, but I use denture cleaner for my mouth guard. I imagine it would work for a bite plate as well. But make sure you call first and get the okay.
Glad things to be going well for you.

Re: Enamel ruined from braces removal?
But I do find it interesting how so many orthodontists will tell patients that enamel is not removed during the removal of braces. However, this one was so down to earth with me and just straight up told me that it was because the glue has to become a part of your tooth so that there is a strong bo...

Mouth Guard with Braces?
I was wondering if people have used mouth guards with their braces to protect from grinding? Did you buy the mouth guard over the counter or did your ortho provide it? Did it cost you anything? What brand? etc. I spoke to my ortho about grinding my teeth, and he seemed to think I wouldn't grind with...

Also interested in knowing how this was fixed. I've been told you can't fix ruined enamel.
Kinda horrified they remove the glue with a drill. Gez. There's no other method?

Re: First time braces at 33
It seems like you're progressing and adjusting really well. I wouldn't worry too much about the gap for now. It should all come together in the end.
