Re: Fixing my underbite, help?

Honestly, if I were in your position...I'd be happy with the way your bite is currently over having surgery. I just had a 3 piece lefort 1 done on my upper jaw for an underbite and while the recovery hasn't been terrible, it was certainly a little more than I was expecting. Your profile looks fine o...

Re: I've gone from an underbite to an overbite. It's ridiculous :(

What did you have done? I just had a 3 Piece lefort on my upper jaw to correct an underbite. I am also 2 weeks post op (and a couple days). It is far far too early to decide if it was the right decision for you, from what I've read, give it at least 2 months when all your swelling should be mostly g...

Re: 2 Weeks Post Op

I just had my 2 week yesterday. I've been able to do soft foods since day 1, the oral surgeon just said NO CHEWING...meaning, nothing goes between my bottom teeth and the splint. I've been doing pretty good with having a variety of foods and I may be guilty of eating an omelette and chewing it a lit...

Re: Upper teeth alignment with 3 piece lefort 1

My 2 week post-op went well, he said he will be removing the splint at my next appointment 2 weeks from today and then I will promptly be going to my orthodontist, who he said would most likely put a heavy archwire in there to start bringing everything down. I questioned why my back teeth on both si...

You sound right on that part, I'll post some pictures tomorrow of what I actually see inside my mouth after my 2 week post op in the morning.

Upper teeth alignment with 3 piece lefort 1

I'm going to be 2 weeks post op from my 3 piece lefort surgery I had on 6/8. Overall, I improve little by little. I still have diminished sensation in half my nose and that side of my face. I can feel myself touching it, but not a complete feeling of touch like my other side. I still have slight dra...

Re: Help with eating?

Things will get better. I looked at your pictures you posted and you won the award for probably having it the roughest I've ever seen. It gets better. I had a lot of trouble swallowing from a sore throat and congestion and I can just say, it gets better. I'm 11 days post op, certainly not feeling 10...

Re: Having 3-Piece Lefort 1 6/8/16

Doesn't look like I'll need the muscle relaxants, the new elastics have a giraffe on them and say medium. I've been wearing them at night, due to my best friend going into cardiac arrest Friday while he was at work, alas, he was saved by a stranger/customer at his work who promptly administered cpr ...

Re: Having 3-Piece Lefort 1 6/8/16

Turns out that I'm not feeling very comfortable with the elastics I was given, they are very thick and hold my jaws together very tightly, where I can't open it and am terrified to cough or sneeze in fear that it will tug on my upper jaw. After a few hours of wearing them, the muscles in my lower ja...

Re: Excessive Bruising MMA Syrgery?

I tried viewing the pictures, but it says they are no longer available. Did you have the surgery this past Friday (10th), or the Friday before (3rd)? In case it was the 3rd and you won that fight with Mohammad Ali, he died that day. RIP. You mentioned 5 days and 2 more days. I had my surgery last we...

Couple pre-op images to share and my current x-ray post-op. I'll share bite pictures once the splint is out! http://s613.photobucket.com/user/tylerwilson814/media/IMG_0182_zpslmlr94r9.jpg.html http://s613.photobucket.com/user/tylerwilson814/media/IMG_0186_zpsxuymqhju.jpg.html http://s613.photobucket...

Re: Surgery and work

I had my surgery on 6/8 on a Wednesday and I'd say by Sunday 6/12 or Monday 6/13 is when I started feeling like a functioning adult again. On Monday the 14th, I drove around for a little bit. I am returning to work on Monday 6/20, though I will be working from home (since I can with my job). My voic...

Re: Having 3-Piece Lefort 1 6/8/16

Had my one week follow-up today, went by pretty quick. I managed to get my lip unstuck yesterday and get a good child sized toothbrush up there to clean my teeth and gumline, without going too far up. Seems like the area above my lip was stick on some wire-ties, which was somewhat painful to get off...

Re: June 2016 Surgery Buddies

I'm going to just leave my upper lip alone until my appointment in two days, the oral surgeon knows more about what to do than I'm willing to mess with. He mentioned taking x-rays at my appointment, should I expect anything such as potential bone starting to fuse back together, or is one week too so...

Re: Having 3-Piece Lefort 1 6/8/16

I've been posting on the June Surgery Buddies topic, but I'll update mine on here. On my surgery day, my mother came down to take me in as she lives about 150 miles north of me. Once we got to the hospital, I went up to see my fiancee who also works there as a social worker and I could see some of h...
