Re: June/July Surgery Buddies

Snapdresser - Glad to know that your gums a little pale as well---I'm paranoid that something is going to go wrong lol. Sounds like your surgery and everything was a steal! I'm still waiting for the hospital charges to show up online. The surgeon's fee has been processed & everything. Total char...

Re: June/July Surgery Buddies

Woo! Three weeks post-op. Halfway there to getting unwired!!! I keep catching myself trying to lick my lips…but my poor tongue is trapped lol. Swelling has went down more. I had a pretty busy weekend so I didn’t find the time to get my blog caught up (I’m also super, super lazy lol) but I plan on do...

Re: June/July Surgery Buddies

Jaime - Yep. Wired shut with actual wires. How long have you been able to drink from a cup? I've been able to since about 10 or so days post-op...though I wasn't the most successful at it lol. Definitely a lot easier. My bottom teeth are the most sore. Especially the ones on the right front and righ...

Re: June/July Surgery Buddies

Hey guys! I hope everyone is doing well! :D Sorry for being so uninvolved lately. I haven't really had the energy to get on the computer much. Started back at work today. Working half days this week. I'm still so drained. Which of us are wired shut? Just me? I can't remember at the moment. I have fo...

Re: June/July Surgery Buddies

Hey! Finally had the time and energy to make a post on here. I've been pretty good the past 3 days. I'm still pretty weak in general but I'm feeling better. The first 3 days post-op were completely awful. I was in a lot of pain and it was nearly impossible to breathe. I felt nauseated throughout mos...

Re: June/July Surgery Buddies

I'm doing okay. Been a rough couple of days. I'm in a lot more pain that I thought I'd be. Surgeon said the surgery went great though. He didn't widen the upper. Moved the upper about 7-7.5 mm forward and the bottom back 5-6 mm. He had to freehand it so those are estimates he gave me today. He moved...

Re: June/July Surgery Buddies

Sorry I've been MIA for a few days. I've been really busy and haven't had time to reply but I have been reading posts to keep up on how you guys have been doing! I'm way more nervous than I thought I'd be. One moment I'm fine and then a wave of uneasy feelings will come over me and I'll feel sick to...

Re: June/July Surgery Buddies

Glad to hear you're doing pretty well! Sorry to hear about your breathing issues though. That's great that you haven't needed any pain killers yet! Do you remember how soon after your SARPE that you needed them? Thanks for the tip about the sleeves! I bought a super soft 3/4 sleeve shirt to wear at ...

Re: June/July Surgery Buddies

Snapdresser - I hope your surgery went great and that you are recovery well!! Yeah, my surgeon's office said a week or two from work should be enough. I did talk to my work about possibly working half days after the 2 week period if I'm not feeling well enough. I'll be getting scissors too---actuall...

Re: June/July Surgery Buddies

Haha yeah I'm alright! Just been super busy the last few days! Nozzelnut/Jaime - I watched a video of the procedure a few months back...I don't recommend it haha. Snap/Jaime - I only put in 2 weeks off. I'm super jealous of you guys taking off that many weeks. I don't think I can take much more than...

Ok, so does anyone else stand in front of the mirror and squish your face around trying to get an idea of what you'll look like after the surgery? 8) lol
Haha yes! I also puff up my cheeks a bit near the upper jaw too. Glad I'm not the only one doing things like that lol.

Re: June/July Surgery Buddies

I got a letter yesterday from the hospital for my pre-op appointment. I'm glad they sent it to me finally because I had no idea where I needed to go. The letter did say to expect to make a $500 deposit towards my services (depending on my type of insurance). I can live with that lol. Oh and the medi...

Re: June/July Surgery Buddies

Snapdresser - Yeah, I feel so bad for the girl. That's definitely a story I wish I hadn't read. I usually fall asleep on my back, but I always roll over on my sides---without waking up. I don't have the room (or the extra cash) to get a recliner either. I'd love one, but my duplex is pretty crammed ...

Re: June/July Surgery Buddies

Nozzlenut - Haha, I've been under anesthesia once before. I had my gallbladder removed about 8 years ago. I made it to 97 counting down from 100 before I was out lol. Snapdresser - I thought about getting a wedge pillow, but I know I'll roll over on my side while in bed regardless lol. Wow, that's q...

Re: June/July Surgery Buddies

deathorglory - Thanks for the link. I might buy a package just in case. I'm going to ask what I should expect to be sent home with after surgery at my pre-op. I bought a pill crusher for any medication that's too big to swallow :] I'm hoping I get mainly liquid meds though. I bruised all the way dow...
