I don't understand why you have a splint if you only had a bsso. I thought splints were only used for multiple part leforts? must be a different technique. It takes a while for the swelling to go down. Even when you think it's gone people will still tell you it is still there. People respond differe...

I'd go with the out of network surgeon and the in network hospital, I would not go with a guy with 4 yrs experience--but it would also depend on who he learned from, you should ask that. I'd want a diplomat from the board of maxillofacial surgery, and I'd start with the oral/max chiefs at the hospi...

The cost of the surgeon was less then the cost of the hospital bills for me. yNot smart to use a out of network hospital. I had my choice of several hospitals. I talked around (resident doctors, even t...

I think it is also a bad idea to not get the best surgeon you can as well. In other words, get better insurance through getting a job that provides it. My surgery was...

Doing this without good insurance is not a smart move. Insurance companies have contracts with in-network hospitals and providers where they get massive discounts on expensive hospital services. I looked at the numbers recently for my bsso. For instance, without insurance, it would have cost $20,282...
