Re: August surgery buddies
Yeah...surgical hooks are great... Truthfully they aren't bad because my orthodontist bent them in, but I'm pretty sure the process of putting them on is pure torture. My teeth are still sore! I also went to see the surgeon and did more molds (two sets...so much blue gunk...I probably still have som...

Re: August surgery buddies
With less than a month until surgery, how is everyone preparing? I haven't really bought anything, but I have completed my directed blood donation. I have appointments to do molds and x-rays next week and my pre-op appointment with my surgeon the day before surgery. I have to find out if I need to d...

Re: August surgery buddies
I got the confirmation today that the surgery will happen August 11 and the insurance approved it! I just have to start doing all the pre-ops. The assistant is out until Monday, so I will schedule everything at that time.

Re: August surgery buddies
I'm scheduled for double jaw surgery and sliding genioplasty to correct my overbite on August 11th. I am still waiting for confirmation from the surgeon that we are absolutely doing it that day. I haven't set up all the pre-op appointments yet, but I am scheduled for the hooks to be placed on July 2...

Re: June/July Surgery Buddies
I'm starting nursing school this summer... I'll be on a break at the end of July and that's when I want to do the surgery. It's exactly two weeks. I'll have to see how I feel about it once I actually start the program... If I have to I'll just wait until the winter break... But I'd much rather do it...

Re: June/July Surgery Buddies
I'm hoping for a July surgery... I've been talking to my ortho about it and he thinks it will work. We'll see in May when I meet with my surgeon again. I want to fix my overjet/overbite and the surgeon suggests upper and lower jaw surgery with a genioplastly, but things always change. I'm excited an...

Surgical Consult
I went to my surgical consult, to discuss correction of my overbite and overjet, yesterday and I'm actually pretty excited about everything. I am super scared, but feel like I am in good hands. So, I went in the morning and did the molds and tons of x-rays and pictures (side, front, spinning, etc). ...

Impressions or Molds
My ortho did not do molds or impressions before I was braced. I am going to a surgical consult on Dec 10th and they need molds. They scheduled me to come in at 8 am to do the molds and come back at 330 pm for the consult. To avoid the extra trip and miss less work, Do you think I can just ask my ort...

I have the exact same questions. I have an overbite and am thinking of doing surgery, but I have so many questions about the end result. Hopefully someone answers your post...

Re: What did your ortho "give" you?
I received a t-shirt (in my choice of colors lol), a toothbrush with a proxy brush attached to the end, a proxy brush, floss threaders, wax, dental mirror, instructions and demonstration of proper cleaning, and a travel tooth brush.

Re: The BEST flossing tip I didn't know!
I use the glide floss with the threader attached and it makes it so much easier. The super floss is huge and just makes flossing painful, so I have an unused box of that as well...

Re: ouch now wearing 4 banded brackets
I have molar band as well and am worried about the removal... And the beginning was rough with all the sharp bits... Lots of wax for the first week and now they are just apart of me.
