Treatment times vary a bit depending on a few factors. But yes 8-10 weeks sounds about right. I know when I had braces my appointment times ranged from 4-10 weeks apart.

I would say get ahold of the Orthodontist and voice your concerns with them if you can, they can give you a solid answer to if you still need it, and will the modified retainer cause any issues.

Hate to break it to you TSchott, but when my fella got his implant several years ago, it was close to $1500..yes..singular implant..without any insurance break...he opted for a bridge this last time around when he shattered a tooth on a frozen Baci candy. Darn well I will discuss with with the spec...

I would say wait until around 7 years old then seek ortho treatment. My co-worker waited for her kids to turn 7 before starting them on ortho treatment for a various of reasons and underbite was one of them.
