Re: Deep overbite or weak recessed chin?

I too have been diagnosed with sleep apnea. They want me to wear a herbst appliance. :( :( Is that what you did and did it help you?

Herbst appliance for sleep apena ?

Has anyone on this board worn a Herbst for their sleep apena? Just when I thought I would never have to return to my Orthodontist's office I have been advised to look into being fitted with a Herbst Appliance for my newly diagnosed sleep apnea. Would love to hear from anyone who knows about this the...

Re: Best thing I ever did

Develop a good mental attitude and smile  :) a lot no matter how much they may hurt at times, as of course they will. Show off your new mouthware, don't be shy and hide it; people will respond more positively to you if you flash them a fully braced grin. I was embarrassed  that I had ...

Best thing I ever did

I was at a function last night and was approached by a woman wearing a knock out designer gown and she asked me if I was born with my beautiful teeth (recently whitened). I assured her that I had naturally wonky teeth and that what she was looking at was man (and woman) made. This morning I was thin...

Re: Full Braces vs. 6 month braces ?

Thanks for your replies. I told my nephew that he needed to get a second opinion and recommended my orthodontist who I am fairly certain will tell him what he needs to know.

Re: Photos and Braces, Hide them or Flaunt them?

When I was first rebraced I was shy about showing them. But when a couple of men I like told me they made me look younger I began smiling wider and showing them at every opportunity. If the rest of you smiles and laughs with the braces people respond positively. Several of my acquaintances and frien...

How can you eat with that arrangement? Looks like no fun. My elastics are mercifully on the sides.

Good luck. It looks like you have thought it through. I am sure you will be glad you did it. When you feel the archwires go in you will know that you are not going to loose these teeth.

Full Braces vs. 6 month braces ?

Since I successfully navigated adult braces everyone in my family thinks I know more about them than I do. My younger brother , he is 45, had poor orthodontia when he was young and his front teeth have moved around. He has been told that what he needs are 6month braces on his front teeth. I suspect ...

Re: Going Clear: the third time round

Getting used to my elasticized jaws. Went in Monday for tune up and got heavier, and more noticeable, stainless archwires. So much for cosmetic braces. New wires putting a lot of pressure on my mouth, but I know that in time that will pass; what I was disappointed in was the addition of more molar b...

Re: Going Clear: the third time round

I am not sure how long this round will be. Depends on how fast my teeth respond I guess. Best guess 12-18 mos. Previously it took longer, but I had more problems to deal with.
