The bone graft is just them putting in some bone type material in with the implant that comes from an outside source. They aren't taking any bone from another part of my body.
Both doctors had similar prices for the bone grafting.

Re: Cost of dental implant - cause for concern?
I would do some research on both and see what kind of reviews they have. You can learn a lot from past experiences. More expensive does not always mean more qualified, and what school they were trained at doesn't always mean that they learned what was available- you need to get the opinions of peop...

The expensive guy is the one who was educated there.
I just don't know how I can justify spending more than three times the amount for that.

A video of this guy can be seen at http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=pl ... aPZS2iMrpU
he is the second one that appears in the video and this seems to be a video sponsored by the building where all of these docs work.

Cost of dental implant - cause for concern?
So I am almost out of my braces and now I've been considering my options to replace my lower right molar which has been gone for about 6 years. My orthodontist has a brother who is an oral surgeon - so naturally he referred me to there. Had the consultation (which they charged $104 for) and he spent...

Re: Drinking Coffee with braces - teeth stains?
I've had braces for three years and I drank coffee virtually every single day in braces. Usually I brushed shortly after coffee since I have it first thing in the morning. I just got my bottom brackets off a few weeks ago and I have a slight outline on my bottom right canine. My theory is that my te...

Re: The Story Of JennyLaughs Braces
I had the same thing happen that you described just a few months into my treatment. Noticed the discoloration, but to me the tooth felt numb, and I did the ice cube test (touching a cube to the tooth surface along the gumline) and it was not sensitive to the cold. Didn't have pain in that tooth, den...

Re: Does anyone use a water flosser?
Conventional wisdom says it can't replace regular flossing. However I (and other people from what I've read) have used waterpiks exclusively without floss and maintained excellent oral hygiene according to the dentist. Anecdotal evidence aside, I would assume if you go for one teeth cleaning period ...

Re: Unintended consequences...
If your teeth are uneven because of chipping along the edges that is something your ortho or dentist can fix in minutes by filing them down slightly.

Re: Finally braced 3/16/10 (pics)
The cant is mostly gone now. You can see it in the older photos in this thread though. It was mostly my front teeth that were uneven, the laterals especially. The lower arch also had the same problem. Its almost as if my bite "collapsed" on one side because of the missing molar. It took a ...

Re: deep bite and gummy smile
The ability to fix a gummy smile through ortho depends on what is causing it. If it is because your gums overlap too much of your teeth, that can be fixed by gum recontouring. If its caused by your lips moving up too much, that can be fixed through a lip surgery that moves the muscle attachment ther...

Re: Finally braced 3/16/10 (pics)
Also, I would be interested to here the opinion of people on this forum of whether or not I should get more IPR done on my two upper front teeth. They have already been reduced vertically by a few mm, and very slightly reduced on the outside edges. My ortho measured them and they have the normal hei...

Re: Finally braced 3/16/10 (pics)
Here is another update, over a year later from the last picture, and my teeth look almost exactly the same. I am due to get the braces off in a few weeks...with a catch. They are going to take them all off, and then REBRACKET my upper front 6 teeth. His reasoning is that ridiculous number of bends i...
