Re: too much ipr done- freaking out

I suspect the amount of enamel removed from your teeth (IPR) was within reasonable limits. Re: Invisalign with Attachments AND elastics?

To the current and former Invisalign w/elastics patients who read this: Were elastic(s) placement(s) changed over the course of your treatment? At the start of treatment, the otho with whom I've contracted services said I'd have elastics 20-22x7 throughout the process. I guess I'm kinda sweating the...

Re: Braces after Jaw Fracture at Age 56!

Thanks for taking the time to share your work-in-progress experience and the accompanying photos; wonderful improvement on your smile! Just four weeks into Invisalign and I see very little change, and that's with elastics day and night. Needless to say, I found your journey to be an inspiration and ...

Re: First few days advice. Journey started yesterday

I recommend becoming efficient with the extra oral hygiene involved with Invisalign. I estimate spending around 304.5 hours additional time brushing, flossing, managing aligners, etc., over the course of treatment. That's 12.6875 days! AcceleDent costs what, around $1000.00? Kinda pricey on top of a...

Invisalign attachments pics thread

Here’s an opportunity for people contemplating Invisalign treatment to get an idea of how attachments look.

Post a pic of your attachments!

I’ll kick it off:

Re: Braces at 59

Invisalign at 56 years old. I thought elastics would be the worst part but having upper and lower plastic aligners in my mouth 20-22 hrs./day is even more sucky. Not sure what I expected.

Re: Invisalign Allergy Side effects upper respiratory symptoms?

A day or two after starting Invisalign I noticed a scratchy throat and a small measure of bronchial discomfort with a mild cough. It occurred to me that the latex elastics could be the culprit, so I went with non-latex. Voila, problem solved!

Re: Poll: At What Age Did You Get Your Braces?

Should've been done forty years ago but we were a cash-challenged family. A number of issues have come up over the decades with the underlying cause being crowding and malocclusion. So, finally pressed the button! Had Invisalign not been an option I wouldn't have gone through with it.

Re: Brush your teeth right after meal?

I floss, rinse, and brush after every meal then immediately reinstall the mouth-rig. I keep meals short and endeavor to pack a lot of calories into them 'cause I do not snack during the work-day. By the time I'm winding down in the evening, I can remove the trays for a couple hours and eat popcorn, ...

Re: Tongue Thrust Treatment Advice

...whenever sitting and reading or at the computer, practice mindfulness. Pay attention to where your tongue is, and move it back on your pallet. I even did this when I woke up at night to turn over. Before too long, it becomes second nature. I was able to stop the tongue-thrusting habit in about a...

Re: Molars dont sit flat

Interesting question. After just nine days of Invisalign treatment my molars no longer seem to sit flat and I'm a bit concerned. But, the bite on left side has always come together while the right had a very small open bite that would resolve as I clenched, and that seems to have evened out some. I'...

Re: Invisalign with Attachments AND elastics?

Depends on where the elastics are positioned.
I have Invisalign with both attachments and elastics and the elastics are well-concealed behind my cheeks. The many attachments, however, make Invisalign more like Hivizalign. But, honestly, it’s no big deal. :)

Second set of aligners now and little pain in the process.
