Re: Question on elastics location
Thank you for the response! Extra-heavy 4mm elastics have been indicated and I can feel pull when opening my mouth but, aside from sensing that small measure of tension, no pain and/or associated discomfort. And yes, the question about elastics is among a relatively short list of discussion topics f...

Re: 65 and Getting Braced
Estimated length of treatment for moi was 18-20 months with elastics throughout the time. I had been kinda worried about elastics and asked the ortho if, indeed, it would be necessary to have them over the entire course of treatment. The answer was an immediate "yes". As it turns out in my case, the...

Question on elastics location
It's been 1.5 months since treatment started and I have yet to feel any discomfort from elastics. Good, right? Couple o' pics of the anchor points to which metal buttons are affixed (blue semi-circles): Right perspective.jpg Left perspective.jpg Looks to me as though the force exerted by the elastic...

Re: Clear Retainers and Very Loose Teeth?
How about a few drops of liquid dishwashing detergent in around 8oz of tepid water, lightly scrubbing with surgical brush? This is the treatment I give the Invisalign aligners. So far, no obvious evidence of abrasion. Or simply soaking them in a solution of hydrogen peroxide? OK, I'll stop trying to...

I'm kinda partial to the GUM 409 w/stimulator. It's a simple soft-bristled brush.

Perhaps it would be helpful to call your ortho's office for advice?

From one relative newb to another, welcome to the board!
Hopefully, someone with knowledge about the procedures you've gone through will have something helpful to offer here.
Best of luck to you on the desired outcome!

Re: too much ipr done- freaking out
If your ortho provided you with ClinCheck videos showing the predicted movement of your teeth over the course of treatment, you'll be able to see around what point in time your two upper incisors will come together.

Re: Invisalign Allergy Side effects upper respiratory symptoms?
Howdy. In my previous post I commented on upper respiratory issues that developed pretty much immediately following the start Invisalign treatment and so changed to non-latex elastics in an effort to solve the problem. I really thought switching elastics had solved the problem due to the fact sympto...

Re: Jaw surgery vs. carrière motion III + Invisalign?
...but my instinct is to at least try the non-surgical option since I don't have any TMJ/breathing/pain. I just can't get a sense of the effectiveness of the carrière motion III since it's relatively new! I say trust your instinct and go with curtain #2. Did your ortho indicate length of treatment ...
