Invisalign since June 26th...

...and just flossed and brushed for around the 236th time since starting treatment.

Only another nine months. And then refinement stage(s).

Help. :-+

That is all.

Re: Invisalign Questions

Were I to do it over, I'd likely opt for Invisalign on top and clear brackets on the bottom simply because having just one plastic aligner in the mouth is much more comfortable than two and brackets on the lower might be inconspicuous enough that I wouldn't tend to be self-conscious about them.

Re: How many consultations?

Yep, unfriendly/hostile manager/office = adios. In your shoes, I would likely seek a third opinion. Years ago I bought a used truck and on the way home stopped and got out to check something. While doing so (with key in the ignition and engine running), the possessed piece of s**t locked me out. :lo...

Re: Question on elastics location

Interesting, yeah, going on two months and, though I can feel tension exerted by them, I have no pain nor see obvious changes to teeth/bite as a result of wearing elastics; and the elastics are of the super-heavy 4mm variety. So, I remain dubious.

Thanks for your comments!

I'm freaking out a little over having my teeth completely covered by plastic 24/7 for 18 mos.
BTW, going on two months and I'm still aware of the plastic aligners in my mouth most of the time.

Re: Invisalign Questions

Whether or not you'll have a speech impediment (usually a lisp) will become clear at such time that you have aligners in your mouth. With both Invisalign and bracket-style braces you'll be faced with extra oral hygiene on a daily basis. Grody, stinky, aligners (and teeth) would be a bad thing as wou...

After eating and prior to replacing any orthodontic appliance, it is wise to floss and brush.

Re: How many consultations?

I only had one... As did I. During the consult I mentioned simply the desire to remedy bottom crowding and the ortho commented on slight crowding in the upper, an overbite, misalignment, rotations, and narrow arches. Those observations seemed to explain the tendency of the upper incisors to hog int...

Re: too much ipr done- freaking out

how long does it take for the sensitivity to go away if ever? i have a constant (mild) throbbing pain where they were shaved down (it's been 15 weeks)? The amount of dust generated by IPR done on my teeth was alarming to the point that I wondered why the ortho hadn't set up cones, strung caution ta...
