Re: Is anyone else as sick of braces as I am?

A couple of months ago, I was standing outside my office building (I work in D.C.) and I was approached by a homeless man who just started talking to me. He was acting really random and clearly off his meds, but I wasn't in any danger so I humored him. We chatted for a few minutes and then he said ...

Re: Cold Symptoms after Every Ortho Appt!

Isn't the incubation period for the cold bug (rhinovirus, typically) 24-72 hours? If so, maybe what you're experiencing is something other than a catarrh picked up whilst in the ortho's office? Anyway, what a sucky thing to go through after every adjustment and I hope this latest event doesn't turn ...

Re: Invisalign since June 26th...

hey speck stay positive as there is an end in site! I am off to get my buttons and attachments off and retainer fixed today. I started the process March 30/17! All worth it. Thank you, yes, best to focus on the prize, so to speak. I was feeling discouraged yesterday after the appointment 'cause I h...

Re: Invisalign since June 26th...

Howdy. First progress appointment today and I asked the ortho about the chances of treatment entering into refinement stages and the answer was, basically, yes. So it looks as though treatment will last around the originally projected 18-24 months. That means aligners in/out, flossing and brushing 4...

Re: Invisalign with Attachments AND elastics?

yup, invisalign, attachments, button and yes elastics which completely fixed my crossbite. I will be done the process on Sept 12/18. Thanks! Have the elastics remained in the same location throughout your treatment? Did you go through refinement stages? What retainer will you have after treatment i...

Re: loose tooth

I agree with jw. I've got at least two teeth, each with a slight wiggle right now and a Bugs Bunny incisor being one of them.

Re: Protein shake

I like this product (chocolate flavor): http://www.mgnstore.com/best-sellers/pure-whey-protein-isolate.html I work out five days/week to stay fit for sporting activities and I like a pre-work-out protein shake, especially if it's been a few hours since I've had a meal and I might be running a calori...

Re: Invisalign Newbie

Try taking an OTC antihistamine (I use Zyrtec on a daily basis) and see if that helps with the headache and sore throat.

Re: Has anyone found it hard to tolerate invisalign?

Maybe it will just take more time. Doesn't it feel weird to just bite on plastic? How do bank time with 22 hours a day? I do like the idea of being able to take them out. I'll keep trying it till I go back. How long did it take to feel normal. BTW, thanks for always responding to my questions :D Ye...

Re: Has anyone found it hard to tolerate invisalign?

Popped in the 11th set of aligners today, so 11 weeks into treatment. No anxiety thus far associated with Invisalign treatment. Becoming accustomed to having aligners top and bottom most hours of each day takes awhile. I expect most everyone undergoing treatment finds a mouthful of orthodontic stuff...

Re: Braces after Jaw Fracture at Age 56!

So getting braces off will be a mixed bag but it'll no doubt feel good being free of brackets, etc. It's great that you're pleased with your bite and, FWIW, I think your teeth look good!

Re: Braces after Jaw Fracture at Age 56!

Yeesh, talk about down to the wire with treatment (bad pun intentional). Haha

Strikes me as a bit odd the ortho is cool with leaving a bracket off a tooth, especially when time is short.

Re: Invisalign since June 26th...

I suspect whether one has bracket-style braces or plastic aligners, discomfort, inconvenience, etc., throughout the treatment process is to be expected. Between the sucky feeling of aligners top and bottom and having to take daily a antihistamine for upper respiratory irritation that came at the sta...

Re: Invisalign since June 26th...

I had been thinking about you while creating this thread. Yours is a tough situation, what with a long-ish commute and restriction(s) on what you can carry into the work-place. Also, like I've said before, one aligner on the upper isn't so bad, but having them both top and bottom is certainly more o...
