Absolutely! Interested is awesome.
(Or, if you've seen that movie with Jason Biggs and Mena Suvari, you know that "Interested is InterestING!")
I think it's really cool to know the specifics. After all, this is stuff we're wearing in our mouths!

Say, I know that ArchWired peeps are generally more informed than the average orthodontic patient, but what gives?
Did you guys just ask the ortho, "Hey! EXACTLY what kind of wire will we be starting with?"
Or was that information they gave you without being asked?

Switch's advice sounds pretty reasonable - your bite is going to be fixed with surgery, right? So for now rest wherever you are comfortable.

Aww, no fair. You've been good, too!

Ah well, it could be worse. My Dad likes to scare people with his braces experience back in the day: he had his on for 12 years total. Eight years, and then four.

WOW, so glad it's no longer the '60's!

Your teeth made a POPPING NOISE?!?
How disconcerting!
I'm kind of jealous; my progress is never so dramatic that it makes itself heard!
What if you are awakened in the night by a loud, boi-oi-oingg! And you rise to find your teeth have magically assumed their desired positions?

Welcome, and congrats on getting braced!

I'm with ya, those cheek expanders are the worst. I've never felt my mouth that dry before. . . BLECH! It's worth it though.

Welcome to the forum! I've been told by the total of 4 orthodontists and 1 oral surgeon I consulted that maxillary expansion through non-surgical means wasn't possible past the age of about 16. I had to pass up the surgery option and just live with my weird bite as it is, unfortunately. So, if adult...

FARLEY! Shame on you! I have broken the links to my own pics that I so helpfully posted.
Next time you ought to:
(a) do your own footwork; and
(b) refrain from hurling idiotic abbreviations at our Meryaten.
This isn't YouTube.

Re: New... and I was just wondering...

I talked to one of the ladies at the office yesterday while setting up my appointment and she said we could set up a consultation for braces and have a look at the tooth... but if I'm thinking about getting braces that there is no way that the tooth could be pulled, which was an option I was consid...

Thought a little levity was called for. My bad. I'm very much in agreement that we examine our changing teeth daily and find all details to be important, while others might never notice these things. However, without a way to see what it is that's bothering you, I wouldn't want to dismiss your feeli...
