Re: Concerns about orthodontist and staff
I suspect they are all in a hurry, and the line the receptionist told you is probably bs. They work on volume. My ortho has busy practice but he makes good use of the chair time, taking a few seconds to minutes to ask how things are going in an unhurried manner. I've waited while he took the time t...

Concerns about orthodontist and staff
I chose to go to see two orthodontists for consultations before I got braces. I could’ve gone to more than two, but I just chose the two because of they were both very close to my house. Ortho #1 charged $8500 and ortho #2 was $7000. I really wanted to pick ortho #1 because he and his staff seemed m...

Re: Elastics Orientation
I do! I have a class 1 open bite on my left side, so I have my elastics in a "box" configuration on that side. I have a class 2 bite in my right side, so I have an elastic going from my right canine at the top to my right molar at the bottom.

Re: Please help - do you honestly wear your full-time elastics all the time?
I always wore my elastics basically 100% of the time; only exceptions were if i was eating, forgot to bring elastics (happened only a few times), or if the Ortho said i could wear elastics only at home (only happened with a couple configurations thats would of been hard to maintain out and about) W...

Please help - do you honestly wear your full-time elastics all the time?
I've had elastics since my 4 month adjustment in September. They were in the class III configuration, so they weren't too visible when I was talking. I had my 6 month adjustment yesterday, and they gave me a "box" configuration of elastics on the left side, and a class II one on the right....

Re: Damon Clears - Overbite, narrow arches, crowdedness
I've definitely read somewhere that they usually start elastics around 4 months. I just got assigned elastics at my 4-month appointment nearly 2 weeks ago.KellyGreen wrote:I'm 4 months in and have already been assigned elastics.
Is this pretty typical?

Re: Second Braces Journey at 25
So, I had another adjustment today. I went with powder blue bands. I got new power chains and a stronger wire. I think he said .34? Might be wrong there. http://i.imgur.com/NwC9s4k.jpg http://i.imgur.com/kvDZ8B6.jpg http://i.imgur.com/ImVpBYl.jpg It's almost 6 months now, and I'm really happy with ...

Re: Question about cleaning
Thank you for the reply, that's reassuring. How strictly do you stick to the avoiding spaghetti sauce, curry etc. That was sorta my diet up until Tuesday haaha If you stick with silver ligatures, staining shouldn't be too much of an issue. I had silver ligs and curry just turned it a goldish colour...

Re: Invisalign to Braces
Though comparing braces vs Invisalign is a tight race. I don’t see enough reason why you will switch to traditional braces. Invisalign is clear teeth aligner that can help straighten teeth which is also removable. The treatment time is 22-24 hrs/day for 6 to 18 months, depending on patient needs co...

Re: Ligature staining
That's weird, cause I have silver ligs now and have eaten curry and turmeric many times and the most it's done is turn a silvery-gold color. It's gone back to normal silver after a few brushes. Black ligs are another option, but black can make your teeth look rotten!
