Interproximal reduction (IPR)
Hello What is your experience with IPR? I have crowded upper and bottom teeth. I went to two orthos, Ortho 1 suggests I need to take out 4 teeth (2 upper, 2 bottoms); Ortho 2 suggests to use IPR to solve the crowded issue. Ortho 1 seems to suggest that extraction is the only way to resolve the 'flar...

KHbraced wrote:It helped me quite about when I first got my lingual braces. I've never heard of wax causing any problems from wearing it too often, I think you can wear it as often as you need to!
I guess the only downside is that we have to take it out when eating/drinking?

Re: Set back about lingual treatment
Agree with Shelley. btw, my "novice" alert was on high with Ortho 2 saying lingual and invisalign are only suitable for mild cases. Elite invisalign providers are not limited to mild cases once they get a lot of experience with the technique. Same for lingual approach. When he says "...

Set back about lingual treatment
I need some advice and wondering someone has gone through the similar experience: 1. Ortho 1: Xrayed- the ortho checked my teeth and telling his assistant about what he found...his advice are: 1. No tooth extraction needed 2. Lingual treatment is fine (and he fact he feels lingual is one of the best...

Re: Incognito Lingual Braces
FYI, iBraces and Incognito are different names at different times for the same system. The brand name was just changed a few years ago, I think when the company that developed them was bought by 3M. I had Incognito linguals, but can't compare directly to other linguals; however, the main difference...

Re: Chewing gum alternative
That's good to know! I thought it would stuck in between braces.
I read that in some cases chewing gum actually helps to build the muscles around your mouth during treatment? Did you have experience with that?

Re: Tips for finding reliable orthodontist
I really looked for the personality of my orthos. I went to a father and son, Rykiss orthodontics who have many locations in my city. They're the nicest doctors I've ever met and always listen to what you have to say. I'd have a consultation with both of them and decide from there. Thanks for shari...

Re: How effective is invisalign?
Thanks for sharing, nybizzle. It's a shock to me that "Invisalign certification is amazingly just an 8 hour course that any dentist can take."- I would have never thought that!!! I wonder whether it's the same case for other braces type, e.g. traditional metal train type or lingual. Do I n...

Tips for finding reliable orthodontist
Hello I have found two orthodontist who provide lingual braces at about the same price. The online review for these two orthodontist are almost equal, although the number of people reviewing them is relatively small so I am not sure how reliable they are. I don't have any friends who have had experi...
