Re: Revision of double jaw surgery after 3 years - Veteran here!
Hi Sarah, Thanks for sharing your story and hope everything goes well with you. I have a similar situation like you -- I had Double Jaw Surgery 3 years ago and I end up with a cant and asymmetrical upper/lower jaws. I'm seeking for revision as well. Do you mind to share with us some pics before &am...

Re: Revision of double jaw surgery after 3 years - Veteran here!
Hey, you said your midlines were off after your first surgery. How much were they off by? I think I'm in a similar situation myself. I don't know the exact measurements but I'll add pictures and you can see there. I think it was off about 3/4 mm. I think it was noticeable. Actually my midline is st...

Re: Revision of double jaw surgery after 3 years - Veteran here!
Hey Sarah- I had to google what mentalis strain was. The google pull mentions botox as a good treatment. Has the surgeon mentioned this as a viable option? Take a look at this https://www.realself.com/question/europe-botox-mentalis-strain-adverse-effect I'm off to see my oral surgeon tomorrow. I th...

Re: Revision of double jaw surgery after 3 years - Veteran here!
Thanks for your answer! I am glad to hear you can close your mouth at rest now. And I hope your treatment still goes smoothly and your ortho can fix the problems! I guess in your case there was still issues with bite which will be improved by orthodontics? You had hard times but it's nice if you can...

Revision of double jaw surgery after 3 years - Veteran here!
Hello. I joined this forum 3 years ago when I had my first double jaw surgery. I even made a post here about revision surgery but then a lot happened and I forgot to update here. So... I had a class 2 open bite with a cant on my upper jaw. My lower jaw and chin was also extremely recessed. I was 18 ...

Re: Correction of horizontal deviation?
Are you talking about your lower jaw or upper jaw? Or both? Sometimes chin is off center too.
As far as I know it can be corrected. If your jaw is off center they'll move it to make it more symmetrical with your overall features. But I don't know if they can make it 100% symmetrical.

Re: Seeking Revision Downgraft
Hello. Sad to hear you need a revision. Have you consulted with other surgeons? Btw, I had my revision surgery and it's been 17 days since. In my first surgery they over impacted my upper jaw as well, so in this surgery they did something like a ''down fracture.'' But right now I still can't smile t...

Re: Getting ready for revision surgery!
Thank you so much for your replies. I made appointments with some other surgeons. My surgeon and my ortho, they don't care about my problems. My ortho was really cold to me Last time, like i am the one to blame because of my dissatisfaction of this surgery. LyraM45, i read your blog, it helped me al...

Re: 8 months post op thinking revision
Hey Sadjaw I can clearly understand you. I see your post just now. I know what it feels like to avoid going outside. I'm trying my best to fix these problems but my surgeon and ortho don't even care. If your surgeon and ortho are willing to help, i think you should talk to them. And i recommend you ...

Re: Getting ready for revision surgery!
TODAY i talked to my surgeon and he apologized for his mistakes. He admitted that he didn't consider my preferences properly. And he told me he will do revision surgery for FREE. That's a good thing. But i'm also so sad because my face will never be completely okay. He told me that there is also asy...

Re: Deviated Septum and Off-Centre Midline After Bi-Max
Hello there. I can completely understand your concerns. Incorrect positioning of maxilla changes everything in your face. I am experiencing that right now, too. First, analyze your face carefully. I mean, you probably do analyze your face but try to observe every single detail on your face. Maybe yo...

Re: Getting ready for revision surgery!
Thanks for asking, i haven't get my second surgery done yet. Actually, they postpone the surgery everytime. I guess they want a more safe and easy route to follow, while i want all of my problems to be fixed. They just want to camouflage the problems. I believe that i need my whole double jaw surger...

Re: have any postops been told not to get the surgery
If you have an overbite, even though your teeth are straight, it's a problem. But it doesn't mean you need a surgery itself. It can be corrected with orthodontics sometimes. As much as i know, there is no way to make upper lip longer. I know, because i do have a short upper lip and i've consulted wi...

Re: Getting ready for revision surgery!
jawa; Actually jaw surgery opened my airway, and i see it helped you for your sleep apnea. I think there may be different problems for your daytime constricted feeling. Before considering a revision, make sure what caused this problem. Maybe you have some habits from before that causing this? Or may...

Re: Getting ready for revision surgery!
Hey thank you!
I'm using the same surgeon who performed the initial surgery. I don't know if it's clever but my orthodontist only works with that surgeon, and i can't change my orthodontist. Why do you think you need revision?
