Hi Steph30,
Your lisp will probably be far less apparent to other people than it is to you. Try recording yourself speaking and you will be pleasantly surprised.
Good luck with your bite plate and the rest of your treatment.

Re: My braces story at 24 yrs old!
Excellent progress Aussie especially in your top arch. And the teeth that are attached to your archwire at the bottom are also coming into line nicely. Finding space to join those instanding teeth to the archwire looks like a bit of a challenge. Is the metal arch inside your teeth an expansion devic...

Re: Feeling Mislead
So if you are going to go the extra mile and do fixed braces with your gf, you might have to do headgear too?

Re: Teeth after 4 weeks (1st adjustment)
I reckon that central incisor will be pretty much in line by the time of your next adjustment. So all fine tuning after that.

Re: They're off and I'm not happy
Hi Ditsy, I think it is very disappointing that an NHS orthodontist would leave your teeth as they are. Even if they started with the limited brief of sorting out your impacted canine, surely they are under a duty to ensure that you have a good occlusion of your teeth at the end of your treatment ev...

Re: Second Braces Journey at 25
Boots always used to sell wax in their larger stores. But it was about £3 for a small box that my ortho sold for £1.
Good luck with your treatment.

Re: Ortho says he can't fix black triangles
I agree with Sink, especially re getting your general dentist to contact your ortho.
My ortho managed to remove a similar triangle for me by doing IPR then placing a powerchain.
Stick to your guns!

Re: Feeling Mislead
I can't speak from personal experience, but from seeing pictures on this site I believe that the two tubes are just a standard thing on molar bands. The second tube is theoretically for headgear which is seldom, if ever, used with adults.

Maybe you should swap from invisalign to fixed braces to keep your girlfriend company? that would be going the extra mile!

Re: Can open coil springs come loose?.
Hi B, As you know, orthodontics relies on the constant application of low forces on the teeth. Therefore experiencing pain from having brackets and wires should be the exception rather than normal. But I appreciate that starting off the process of moving teeth in adults might be a shock to the syste...

Re: Can open coil springs come loose?.
Can you post a picture? I can't see how there could be any problem if all is intact as you describe. You could always call your ortho for reassurance. They will probably be happy for you to go in for a quick look.

Re: Intended relapse but had ipr done
Hi Second, You do not say what he problem is with your "results". 6 month smiles is just a quick fix to your front teeth and usually done by a general dentist rather than a qualified orthodontist. I agree that not using your retainer is unlikely to result in a good outcome. I suggest you c...

Re: Retainer not worn HELP!!
Make an early appointment with your ortho! They will have heard this story many times and shouldn't be judgemental- it is extra business for them. They will be able to advise better than anyone here whether forcing your retainer on might damage your teeth because they have moved too far. If they hav...
