Hi Phil, Sorry to hear you are so down. Are you sure plaque and decalcification are related? I get my teeth cleaned every 4 months, because I am a "plaque builder" and have been even before braces. I also use a sonicare toothbrush and waterpik which helps. However, I still tend to have som...

Mindy: I hope it gets better soon. I have self-ligatating brackets and have a powerchain on now. I have also had wire ties and powerchains on at the same time on my uppers. I had an adjustment on 6/14 and since that time I have developed a serious "oral ulceration". Sure, makes me want to ...

Glad you took the plunge. I guess we learn to live with what we have and don't really know how bad it is until we start to fix the problem. I got a big boost when I noticed that I no longer have an overjet. Unfortunately, although the overbite is improved, I have a long, long, long way to go.

I totally agree. I am shocked the Ortho said that. I called today to tell them the assistant put the wrong color powerchain on (6/14) and I was afraid of the staining. She immediatelhy apologized and booked me a date to come have it changed before my performance.

Meryaten: Unfortunately I have had a lot of "discomfort"........heck lets call it what it is PAIN  with every adjustment. I am a tough person with a high tolerance of pain so this has been an experience  .

I am still glad I did it :jump:

Meryatn : Thanks for the reply - sounds like good advice. I was referring to the pain, it was terrible for 2 days. My teeth are still quite sore even now. My Ortho has powerchains in almost every color possible. The powerchain she took of was smoke colored. I had no problems with staining even after...

Looks great! Did you get to choose the color. It is at least 2 years away, but I have already asked my Ortho for upper and lower bonded retainers. I do not want mess up my hard work by being lax with wearing retainers.

I understand. I am jealous of the no "painers" :D It has been 5 months and I still have days that I hate to chew (or sneeze). Biting into anything is still out the question. On the upside, I have found that you can eat almost anything if it is cut into small pieces. Since it takes longer f...

Should I be upset, or just let it go???

I had an adjustment on 6/14. During this visit I got powerchains all the way across my upper and lowers. The top powerchain hurt so bad I could have cried. Finally, it was over and I head out with a sigh of relief. In the car I noticed that the assistant had put the wrong color on the uppers (clear)...

Glad it worked out for you. My Ortho told me to call whenever "i think" something is wrong. Remember, you (or someone else) is paying a hefty sum for your treatment. If you have questions, ASK. Good luck :P :D

I had my third adjustment on 6-14-07. For the first time I was able to look at my pre-brace pics without cringing. It was nice to actually see a real change.
