Re: white wires?

Hi Kellyb. I am glad to know it is not just me! I have lost quite a lot more of the white coating in the 5 days since my last post and it is now nearly all silver from the front. It is still not too noticeable as it is a very small wire ( no idea what gauge). I am due back at my orthodontist on 14 F...

Re: brand new brace wearer (age 31)

Congratulations on getting your bottom brace, bbards. I am also in the UK and have a sectional brace with damon clear brackets just on my 6 front upper teeth.I need to move a central incisor forward to stop it biting onto my lower incisors. To achieve this, I need to move and untwist the lateral inc...

white wires?

I have had a sectional brace with Damon clear brackets on my top front 6 teeth since January 3. When the brace was fitted, I was pleased to find that I had been given a white coloured wire. Presumably as a result of my conscientious brushing, some of the white coating on the wire has now gone and th...

Re: Do I continue with treatment?

Dear El, From reading your blog it sounds as though you have already gone through the worst part of your treatment. I am sure everyone on this site will advise you to see out the full course of treatment, especially if the NHS is going to fund it. You will almost certainly have regrets later if you ...

Re: Can I do it?

Looking good, Ebony. I bet your upper arch rounds out really quickly.

Good luck with the bracing of your lower arch- you know you can do it now!

Re: what will happen tuesday...

It may be your ortho is planning to brace one arch next week and the other a week later, rather than putting you through it all in one appointment?

Good luck with the next appointment whatever it turns out to be for.

Re: Can I do it?

Good luck tomorrow, Ebony. I am sure it will go well and that you will quickly become accustomed to your braces.I have had my brace for over 2 weeks and it has been fine. It just feels like a normal part of my mouth now.

Best wishes

Re: braceface74 story with pics

Congratulations Braceface 74- looking good! I am another UK newbie having had a Damon clear brace placed on my upper teeth (sectional brace on front 6 teeth only) on 3 January. So far pain-free and hardly noticed by anybody. I scratched off the dots. Are your brackets all clear or are they metal apa...

Re: Can I do it?

Hi Ebony,

All fine with me thanks. Still no pain- I wonder whether there is any movement at all yet? I cannot see any. I guess I will have to be patient.

The view from your cabin is magnificent.

Good luck next Friday. You know you can do it now.

Re: Got braces yesterday but no pain today - something wrong

Gosh Cory, I did not realise there could be such a delay after fitting of braces before any pain kicks in. I am about 10 days in and had assumed that if I was going to have any pain it would have happened by now. I had better make sure I still have some painkillers to hand.

Regards,

Re: Can I do it?

Hi Ebony,

Good luck today!

You should not worry about pain with braces when you are eating. Not everyone has that problem (I haven't so far) and those people on this board who have had pain have evidently coped with it well as I am sure you will too.

Take care,

Re: Can I do it?

Hi Ebony Day 3 is just fine, thank you. My lips are not at all sore and I have not yet had any dental pain, although I did have a slight headache yesterday. It may be that teeth start to move more slowly for oldies like me and that I still have some dental tenderness to come. I have been out and abou...
