Hit in the mouth with a baseball bat? Oh no, nothing like that! honestly, it wasn't that bad for me. They gave me some Advil when I left the ortho's offie and I went back to work and I was fine. I have an appliance in the bottom of my mouth, that was the worst part, not the braces. As far as food go...

Hi Lakester, I'm 56 and have had my braces on for eight weeks now. The first week was definitly the worst, but it has gotten better each day. I still use the wax on 2 or 3 spots most days and it really does help. The worst part to me is that my bite is so crazy right now, it can be difficult to chew...

I dream about eating steak, corn on the cob, peanut brittle, gum. I dream about not having to think about everything I'm going to eat, to be able to go to a restaurant and order what everyone else orders. Mostly I dream about the day when I can get rid of the lingual arch holder in the bottom of my ...

I had my first adjustment yesterday, and my bite is crazier now than is has been the last few weeks. They put a powerchain on my bottom teeth on the left side, and those teeh feel like they're crunching together, and none of the teeth on the right side are even touching at all! I hope something shif...

Hi mhalliden, I have an arch holder appliance on my bottom teeth, and the first week my tongue was SOOOO sore I could barely stand it. It was like when you have a bad sore throat and you don't want to swallow because you know it's going to hurt. Every time I would talk or swallow, my tongue would sc...

Almost every day to me is a new experience with eating. I've had my braces for 5 weeks now, and each day my teeth seem to be hitting in a different place. I agree with noodles and rice (two of my favorites) being some of the hardest to eat foods. I ate a pasta Lean Cuisine for lunch at work the othe...

A couple of days ago, I had just gotten finished eating a few black olives when someone knocked on my door. It was the guy who cuts the grass and wanted to ask a few questions. We had been talking for three or four minutes when I thought - OMG, I bet I have black olives all in my braces! I was so pa...
